After seeing some pictures people here have posted...i've just realised how pussified Pokemon was in contrast with Digimon...

Wow, blast from the past. That was one of the first 'anime' I ever watched. I was like, eleven. But after the first season finished--I think I watched part of the second one--and then I branched out into Gundam Wing and Ranma 1/2. I heard they brought Digimon back into some lame show--but I never watched any of it after that first or second season.

I personally was a fan of all 5 seasons....though 2 was the weakest. Season 3 was a lot darker than the others, while Season 4 decided they didn't need digimon partners....or half the team, by the end. Season 5 was really good, but of course, everyone stopped paying attention by then. The kids were older; 15-18....though one 10 year old shows up....but he wins points automatically for calling himself the Digimon of Justice! And being a wild child raised by digimon. 
Digimon always was better than Pokemon for the simple reason that it had a plot....and some of the characters were pretty deep, if you were paying attention. I missed 2 episodes once, in season 1....and everything had changed! They had defeated one bad guy and were on a whole new continent!.....I missed a 3 seasons of Pokemon and pretty much everything was the same...

I didn't think Digimon was still on. After the first 2 seasons (with the original kids and the guys who could armor digivolve) I tried watching the third (with the "Tamers") and just couldn't get past when they went into the digital world. I do miss digimon though, it was one of the things that got me up early on saturdays.
Well, there was one and two with the Tai/Matt/TK/Kari gang. The third had Takato, Henry and Rika, the Tamers. There was a fourth that I rather liked wherein the children transformed into their Digimon partners, Takuya was the leader and there were twins Koji and Koichi. The fifth, which I haven't seen, involves some entirely new kids protecting the real world or something.
me and my friends actually had a very long story about how digimon started but long story short a mexican Had sex with a pokemon and well thus you get digimon.
I used to love that show. I think I watched almost every episode. My favorite was the several episodes they spent fighting that clown looking guy (I think it was a clown... it has been a LONG time)
I didn't like it as much when they got back to the real world, I think that is when I stopped watching.
