What happened was not very many people watched it because in my opinion they would rather play games than watch tv about games. So shows had to be canceled and after a while you only have x play and Attack of the Show, With the only the former having at least some dignity left. To me, G4 has become a knock off of spike tv, which is the last channel you want to knock off.
I'm actually pretty happy with Attack of the Show and X-play. Attack of the Show is basically the same thing, but somehow it seems better, probably because Olivia Munn is gone. I couldn't ever stand her, she was so fake it pissed me off. X-Play seems like it's grown up a little bit, drifting away from the little skits and showing what some people want "previews, reviews, MMO report, and exclusive game footage". X-Play keeps what the show was meant to be, reviews of games and added some new content that appeals to a gamer audience and not a child audience. Kudos to you G4.
On the Cops and Cheaters note, I want these off the air as much as everyone else. Give me more shows that have to do with tech or anything nerdy. Bring back reruns of Code Monkeys, for the love of god just take off the 7 hour block of Cheaters.

I'm glad they got rid of Munn. She was kind of funny, but was so damn fake. I miss the sketches from X-play, and the hosts seemed to have more fun in the earlier years than they do now. And I actually enjoyed Call for Help, Cheat!, and whatever Victor Lucas was hosting.
They occasionally did actual journalism - see: RE5, Other M. Turns out that in their viewer-base, thinking critically about something = trolling. It's easier to make money telling people what they want to hear about things they enjoy.
