Well back in the old days everone was more private and the media would only focus on the good, sometimes. Nowadays the media focus on the real world were people are evil and the world is generally bad.

But if you surround yourself with bad news and constantly read it, you'll feel down. Whereas if you stick to reading positive news, and other material you'll have a much sunnier outlook on the world.

Is it odd, that most news stations (Minus the local ones) could care less about small things like murders, bank roberies and or casualties in war and instead focus on what Obama is wearing today? Sorry, my consirvitism slipped out, but where I live it's usually the exact opposite, people could care less about two brothers from wisconsin getting blown up in an IED explosion, when Obama got new dress pants. Sorry, my outlook is extremly bleak...

I understand your point, but shielding yourself from the bad stuff doesn't exactly stop it from happening. Would you agree that the world could be in such bad shape because of that kind of thing? Unfortunately the only "Good News" we seem to get are these pathetic, "human interest" puff pieces to distract us from what's really going on. Its nothing new.

I'm not ripping on you, I like your attitude, I just think that if more people were to face the crap that we do to each other rather than ignore it and hope it goes away, maybe collectively we can DO something about it so there won't BE any more bad news...

Secondly, yeah the world is full of insane people. Only reason it seems so bad is because the internet can flood us with stories of it happening, whereas 20 or so years ago we likely wouldn't have been any the wiser.

ok so yeah something im noticing that there are alot of messed up things happening over the last few months, women calling the police on her[/B] son who wont get off xbox, criminals being caught because of stopping to play a DS instead of fleeing the crime scene, men stabbing kids to death because of tony hawk. does this sort of thing tend to happen regularily and its just because ive only just started REALLY using the forums, or is this truly as messed up as im thinking it is.
