Well, you can leave the castle and do quests, in between the times in the throne room, in order to build up the money to save everyone.GabeZhul said:So, afterwards you are given options where you can either honor the deals you had made with your allies or betray them for more money that you can use to stop the evil thingie taking over. This was my first big WTF moment (and warning-sign, in retrospect), as I didn't understand why my character wouldn't just say: "Well, yeah, saving the pretty little lake would be nice and all, but there is an eldritch evil trying to kill us all, so you might want to consider that as a priority, no?". Instead your two choices are "being a goodie-two-shoe and doing what they want" or "being a mustache-twirling villain and screwing them over". Still I chose the good option because I thought I still had a lot of time and the rent-system in the game gave me a steady income.
Then, right after that, time jump to a month later for another choice. Then to the next choice two months later. Then finally a five month jump and then the evil thingie is suddenly invading. This was my second huge WTF moment, as this point the game pretty much openly screwed me over, but I decided to just roll with it for now.
That was your Jak3 WTF!?Glover09 said:Jak 3: Jak is Mar. Wait, what? How? But...What?(Note-My recall was/is iffy.)
You might know that in retrospect, but when you are actually playing the game for the first time it just goes from "121 days remaining, no need to rush" to "holy shit, the enemy is besieging the capital!". There's not even a "the enemy is closing in, this is the point of no return, finish up everything you want" message beforehand. You just talk to your advisor and you would think it would move you to your next king choice, but instead it immediately throws you into the battle without any actual setup or anything.Colour Scientist said:Well, you can leave the castle and do quests, in between the times in the throne room, in order to build up the money to save everyone.GabeZhul said:snip
It's a total pain in the arse, time-wise, but I don't think the game openly fucks you over.
Well, there're like 5 separate throne room scenes and between each one they let you wander around and you can just leave and go out into the world, I only played through the game once and that's what I did.GabeZhul said:You might know that in retrospect, but when you are actually playing the game for the first time it just goes from "121 days remaining, no need to rush" to "holy shit, the enemy is besieging the capital!". Oh, so this is why Agent Superball's profile said he is prone to spontaneous dance and song routine! I played through 'Devil's Toybox' recently and so wanted to see him singing but he didn't -_-Vegosiux said:This needs to be said:
Even Sam&Max themselves are speechless.
Surprisingly, Even from Jak 1 I figured there was some idiotic mindset behind Daxter falling into the eco and coming out as he did. Over the top, but kind of expected.Casual Shinji said:That was your Jak3 WTF!?Glover09 said:Jak 3: Jak is Mar. Wait, what? How? But...What?(Note-My recall was/is iffy.)
What about the Precursors a.k.a. the creators of the universe being...
...a bunch of fucking otters?
It takes time, you can save up the money whilst playing... but it is a pain, a right royal pain (mostly cause I've always runout of side missions by the time I hit the throne, so I'm stuck waiting for rent and refusing to do "can you go here and get my letter" missions)Colour Scientist said:Well, you can leave the castle and do quests, in between the times in the throne room, in order to build up the money to save everyone.GabeZhul said:So, afterwards you are given options where you can either honor the deals you had made with your allies or betray them for more money that you can use to stop the evil thingie taking over.
