German exchange student who came over here for 3 weeks wasnt a gamer untill the exchange and he went to my friends house
no joking no bull shitting no im better than you Crap my friend is the best call of duty player i have ever seen i can compete with his scores when were in a team deathmatch together we'd both get in and around 20+ kills a piece but when hes on his own with just an average team against a good team he usually gets more than half the teams total score and wins obviously
back to my point the german exchange student loved the ps3 and got one when he went home
he could get Call of duty WAW in germany but not cod4 as yahtzee put it "i thought if you so much as mentioned the word nazi in germany the government came and burnt your house down"
So whats up with it is WAW an exception or are games including nazi's aloud but including arabs not?

so what is your question?

ah yes. finally a question. well as i'm not German i'd say you need to find yourself someone from Germany... an interesting question though. Perhaps there is some sort of time aspect. Perhaps WW2 was long enough ago that they don't really care much, however this whole terrorist thing is sort of a hot topic... that would be my guess.

Yeah, not seeing your point here...

If it's Germany and Nazism, well that doesn't even come up in CoD4. o_O

I spent time in a foreign studies program and there was a German student. He told us that when in school they are all taught about what the Nazi party did during WWII and also that as a school trip they go to one of the concentration camps to see it. It is not covered up or hushed over.

... well I remember I had a friend of my mine that was just about to send an email about his idea
Call of Duty: Call of the Fatherland or something like that. In which you played a nazi instead of an American soldier. We all agreed that no one would buy the game so we never sent the email in.

We pretty much had all the writing and levels done, just didn't follow through

My god, what utter crap.
As I mentioned recently in another thread, we Germans are neither forgetful dolts nor moronic twats. We don't forget stuff like WW2 and we actually learn from our mistakes... and we don't hush them up either.
Getting games involving Nazis over here (either around WW2 or set in some other scenario) is about as difficult as drawing breath. Whenever I'm at the store I avoid the PC games section on purpose because I'm infuriated by the fact that about a third or a quarter of all the games on display there are FUCKING WW2 GAMES!!!! I can't take seeing those boring things anymore!

I'm sorry, did you think I was serious?I was being stupid. It was a joke, and by questioning the logic in something so ludicrus(How do you spell it?)you have made yourself a fool.If you were trying to keep the joke rolling, you did a terrible job.and lastly,it's set to the germans specific differences(what makes german, german).and as for the discs would be fine comment, the owner would be dead,so who cares, and the german shipping guys would die during delivery because the virus had spread to the box/crate.

I can't really say. I am from Austria, it's like the most similar country to Germany. Over here you get almost all the games.. CoD:WaW AND CoD4. It's kinda weird that there's such a big difference between our countries. Almost every game which you get at the age of 16 in the USA for instance, you aren't able to purchase in Germany (And IF, it's cut!), so I guess most of the German players import the games. Uhmm... yes.

To your question: I simply dunno. lol.

PS: My english is very bad, I'm sorry for that.

well i think the fact that in WAW the entire russian campaign consists of you butchering german soldiers and the fact that WW2 was 65 years ago it would be a bit extreme in this day and age to ban a videogame loosely based on real historical events also did anyone notice that the start of the russian campaign when you come to in the fountain is almost entirely stolen from the movie enemy at the gates.check it out and you'll see what i mean
