So I at last started me too the new X-com I waited for so long.
Normal difficulty, with the Ironman Challenge: Nice at first, then I saw slowly my best soldiers dying like flies, especially when I met for the first time the Mutons......f*ck. A Challenge indeed.
[but I take breaks playing Retro City Rampage]

Anyway, I just wanted to create again a Thread as I did in GT in the past:

If you were able to create a X-com game what alien races would you put for you to defeat? You may select 5 different Alien Races from any kind of media you like. Please, post pictures if you like.

Me first:

Landsharks [Battle: Los Angeles]

Mangalores [The 5th Element]

Xenomorphs [Alien series]

Moorwens [Outlander]

??? [Earth vs. the Flying Saucers]

I would add The Thing. That would be some seriously scary stuff to face down.

I imagine if they were in the game they'd be a lone combatant, something like a boss, considering that they're taller than some buildings and can probably melt any cover on the map. Giant, heavily armoured Sectopods. Better have a shredder rocket ready.

I would use...the Rachni, the Yahg, the Gorn (what?) the Grunts (cannon fodder) and the Rancor...you put me on the spot.

The Arachnids from Starship Troopers would make a good enemy. So would the those huge effing bugs that spew fire/molten lava/plasma.

Or somekind of lazer weapon to cut its giants legs of.
It would be very a interesting fight. Put this guy in the mix also:

Also, so many things I have in mind if this game will have in the future mods......imagine an X-com with the Half-life story.
But before the Gordon Freeman come and save the day, you Commander have the resposibility to keep us alive.

We will be watching.

Though that might be a bit out of X-Com's league. Maybe this instead:

Captcha: Never give up - Captcha's right. Maybe if we're lucky the reapers and the zerg will kill each other!

Nah, this is not difficult, the difficult is to find actually a solid reason why this alien races work together.
Maybe Reaper can mind controlinh them somehow, but i the Zergs have Kerrigan as their Queen, it is somehow difficult.

I cant wait for the New Generation version of that show thats coming out this year!

OT: I think the zerg would be a horrible enemy for Xcom to face, they sort of spread too quick, same for Tyranids.

I do think the Arachnids would make a good enemy though (Starship Troopers)

Yeah, if Tyranids were part of the X-com series, we would be SSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo DEAD!
Maybe, JUST maybe, if only few Tyranids was only existed as "boss" encounters for the X-com team, maybe we would had a change.

Orks would be better and would add some much needed humour into Xcom.

XCOM 40,000 needs to be a thing. Just... everything. 40k everywhere. You place as Space Marines. You fight Orks, or Tyrannids, or Chaos. Everything reskinned and modded. Just... look, if this isn't on ModDB by the end of the year I will be very, very disappointed in nerds the world over. You have one job: put Warhammer 40,000 into XCOM. Fail me and I'll have a sads. You don't want me to have a sads, do you?

...oh, the guys above me putting Orks and Tyrannids into the game are partially right. They're just missing... y'know. Everything else. Maybe they're being realistic about it. Maybe I don't give two shits about your petty "realism". This has to exist.

The OP stated what alien races you want in Xcom.

But yes I want a 40k total conversion mod.

And my answer was "all the 40k ones." But yeah, you're right, I did kind of roundabout just say I wanted a total conversion mod. But yeah. Alien races I want: all the 40k ones, including the Marines, also fighting on 40k planets. And you get to play as the Marines. They are technically aliens.

I just wanna purge all Xenos in the name of the Emperor so baad.

Well, this could be work if in a specific part of the Dark Eldars, Orkzs, Tyranids, Necrons, and maybe Chaos Marine [they are demons after all.....Alien Demons like in Doom 3 if you think about it......This sound so cool btw.] created a "Secret Alliance" for a high purpouse and the Ultra Marines must find out.

Not the Ultra Smurfs!

Raven Guard would better suit Xcom's gameplay with their flexible deployment/squad styles and have a valid reason why there isn't any armoured support.

The best choice would be Deathwatch, small specially armed squads specifically trained to combat Xenos.

how about the martians from martians attack, we would only need to bring a boombox and classic music
