X-Men: Days of Future Past: 17 New Cast Photos Revealed

17 brand new character photos and bios have been unveiled on the X-Men: Days of Future Past website.

Days of Future Past isn't scheduled to hit theaters until May, which means that X-Men fans will have to subsist on a diet of pathetic news stories and trailers for the next few months. Like any good drug dealer, Twentieth Century Fox doles out the goods in tiny, excruciating tastes, creating an addiction that can only be cured with a full-length feature film. To that effect, the flick's official website has been updated with a slew of brand new character photos and bios.

This movie is a blend of Bryan Singer's original X-Men characters and their younger counterparts from the Matthew Vaughn-directed prequel, X-Men: First Class. Most of the cast members from previous X-Men movies are returning to reprise their roles. However, Cyclops and Jean Grey are noticeably absent, which is understandable considering how things ended in X-Men: The Last Stand.

I, for one, am happy to see Bishop, Blink, and Sunspot join the cast, but would have liked Gambit to make his big-screen debut. Though, the rumor mill has been churning out reports of a standalone Gambit movie starring Channing Tatum [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/131845-X-Men-Producer-Wants-Channing-Tatum-For-Gambit]. So, it may only be a matter of time.

But he's already been in a movie. He was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine for several whole minutes!

Oh, goodie, Hale Berry returns... and the character who looks like she stepped out of Darnassus is named BLINK?

Not to mention that out of all the characters they butchered in that movie (which was all of the characters in that movie), he was... possibly the least butchered? Maybe?

I still have a bad feeling about this movie. They really need to scrap the X-Men franchise and start over. I like that Hugh Jackman puts a lot of love and work into his character, Wolverine-lite(0 calories, not quite Wolverine enough, yeah para-phrasing Doctor Evil) but I want to see X-Men be something other than that Marvel series that's a little better than Spiderman.

Wow, Peter Dinklage can rock a pornstar stache without looking like a massive ponce.

AS for the rest, all the new additions to the cast look pretty bad in my opinion. Especially Blink and Bishop. It's the eyes.

Yup, that she does, they even toned it down a little, these are her "real" colours

Well the two Magneto's look kind of good I guess. And the very last person with the pink hair.

It's kind of annoying after First Class was almost a fresh start that the next one just became more convoluted to fit it into the canon too.

It always makes me think of this

I know First Class didn't have many of the really famous xmen in it, but they could have scrapped the old continuity and started adding in a couple. And it was a really good chance to develop some characters who don't get much time in the spot light instead of relying on the effort-free attachment that sticking Wolverine in something brings

"I'm shorter mad scientist Ron Burgundy. Stay filled with mutant-hating robots, Genosha."

First Class worked really well because it was focused. It told the story of a few complex characters as portrayed by some very talented actors (McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence, and arguably Bacon). They had good chemistry, shared screen time without trying to one-up each other, and managed to make a compelling prequel to the later X-people movies without getting stuck on too much lore or mimicking their style.

Days of Future Past looks, from my limited knowledge, like a mess. Lots of big names that run from hammy to completely serious to teen heartthrob, and almost everybody with something to prove. I fully expect everybody with perhaps a couple of exceptions to be vying for 'fan favorite' as opposed to actually playing their character well.

Except for Dinklage, that is. That guy is a goddamn rock and he doesn't have to prove shit to anybody.

I remember when the it was first announced that they would make a Days of Future Past movie I was kind of excited. Then it hit me that time travel is always tricky.

Then I started thinking about the huge cast that would be necessary.

And I got worried.

And now I see I wasn't wrong. I have no faith in Fox to deliver a movie that's coherent and enjoyable. They've proven before that they can't even handle smaller ensembles with clearer storylines. This is just such a mess.

Please, just please hand the rights back to Marvel. They know how to this stuff, they made that abundantly clear. This is just painful to watch.

Anyone else see that picture and think Peter Dinkledge was wearing a Ron burgundy outfit.
You mean he's meant to be something else?

Seriously, I thought he's the arsehole normal TV anchor. You're saying he's a mutant?

Agreed. I would have been happy with ANYONE else besides him, but Wolverine is their bread and butter apparently...

Jean and Cyclops better be in this movie. I'm still mad about what happened to them in X3, and now that we're messing with time travel, this is the perfect chance to bring them back and fix that mistake.

Why have they gone back to dull black leather uniforms? Marvel Studios has already showed that classic and bright is marketable. It's no longer the early 2000s where it wasn't cool to be colourful and instead just copy the Matrix.

Don't get me started on that! He's the leader of the X-men FFS and is admired and respected by all them (even begrudgingly by Wolverine), yet the movies just had him act like a self-entitled tool and then killed him off.

Now it's just turned into the Hugh Jackman show and I've lost interest. I'm an Australian and think Hugh is the man, but they've seriously lost the plot. If Cable shows up with no reference to either Scott or Jean I'm going to start throwing chairs!

Ugh, I wish they hadn't called Bryan Singer back to direct this one. I especially wish they hadn't connected it to the first three X-Men movies the way they are. First Class was so great, I can only imagine it's going to be brought down by the connection.

shhhhhhhh we're pretending that didn't happen. The whole movie I mean, and most of The Last Stand.

That is unless Singer is hoping to use the time travel in this movie to explain the dozen other continuity errors between his movies and those 2.
