?Nobody gets to kill you except me!?

Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Logan/Wolverine in the origin story of Wolverine: X-men Origins: Wolverine.

Directed by Gavin Hood
Written by David Benioff and Skip Woods
Logan/Wolverine-Hugh Jackman
Liev Schreiber-Victor Creed/Sabertooth
Danny Huston-Colonel William Stryker
Will I Am-John Wraith
Kevin Durand-Fred Dukes/Blob
Ryan Reynolds-Wade Wilson/Deadpool

To begin with, for anyone who somehow doesn?t know who Wolverine is yet, Wolverine is a mutant possessing incredible regenerative abilities and has claws of bone the spring from between his knuckles. The film begins showing the various wars Wolverine and Sabertooth fought alongside in. He fought in the civil war, World War 1, World War 2 and Vietnam. He was part of a special military unit composed of other mutants. But the unit is eventually disbanded, and Victor Creed begins hunting down and slaying members of the unit. Wolverine though, wants nothing to do with it, that is until Sabertooth gets him involved in all of it, and takes someone very dear to him. To aid in his revenge, Wolverine volunteers for the weapon x program headed by Stryker, and has adamantium infused to his entire skeleton.

The actors gave a fairly decent performance overall. Hugh Jackman is once again Wolverine. If you liked him as Wolverine in the previous X-men films, you are going to like him again. He gives another solid performance as the arrogant and brash Logan. He just fits the ?tough guy? mold of the Wolverine character very well. Liev Schreiber brings an animalistic mentally to Sabertooth, and I have to say I feel they did a much better job with this Sabertooth than the one in the first X-men. The Mad Magazine spoof of the first X-men comes to mind. ?I?m Slobbergoof! All I do is growl and attack innocent people, and I already have more lines of dialogue in this one text bubble than I do in the entire $-men movie!? The supporting caste also did well. All of the actors seemed to really have fun with their various roles.

Then there is Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. I have to say I am a bit disappointed with this character, but not because of Reynolds. They feature him prominently at the start, and then he just disappears until near the end, but I will get to that in a second. Deadpool is a tremendous smartalic and Reynolds plays a wisecracker in all his roles. I thought that would be a perfect match, and they missed a great opportunity to have some real fun with it. I don?t want to give anything away, but I felt they messed up Deadpool near the end.

The film has a bit of everything. There is a lot of wit and humor in the film, from Deadpool as I earlier mentioned, and Wolverine as well. There were more than a couple instances where the audience was laughing at parts, and I think those parts were intentionally funny. There is the Obvious action, mainly the fights between Wolverine and Sabertooth, and it even has some romance thrown in for good measure. I thought the story was very well written for the most part, and played out the rivalry and the brotherhood between Logan and Victor quite well. Again, wish they would have stuck more to the comics on Deadpool, but maybe someone who knows a bit more about the character could shed some light on that.

The special effects were fairly impressive. Everything looks fluid. You really can?t tell when CG is being used just from watching. From Wolverine?s claws to the optic blasts, things look really well done. It really helped me get immersed in the film. I thought the sound effects were decent enough, though I didn?t really notice much background music.

Overall, I liked the film. Aside from maybe messing up Deadpool?s character a bit, and not taking more advantage of casting Reynolds as Deadpool, I rather enjoyed the film. It was high action, but also had humor and quick wit, as well as a bit of romance, and managed to have in my opinion a good story to boot. I was beginning to wonder when they were finally going to include Gambit, since he seems to be one of the more popular characters. My recommendation would be if you are a fan of the X-men comics and/or like any of the previous movies then this film is definitely worth seeing.

OMG THANK YOU!! I am so tired of all the negative reviews around here about how the movie was horrible, it wasn't the greatest movie of all time but it was in no way bad at all. Good review!

No it was not dead pool is DC.
Wolverine is marvel.
No. Deadpool. Marvel.

I dislike this movie for these reasons:

1: They made Nightcrawlers father some random black guy Mystique hooked up with.

2: They rape Deadpool.
Deadpool appears in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, played by Ryan Reynolds.[66].
Wade appears to be a highly skilled, wisecracking mercenary. As a tribute to this, Colonel William Stryker claims that he would be the perfect soldier, if it weren't for his tendency to make jokes. Wade even says that the only time he stops speaking is when he's asleep.
Later in the film, Sabretooth claims that Wade was killed off screen. However, Wade was in fact taken to become Weapon XI the "Deadpool", an amalgamation of other mutants' powers including Wolverine, Scott Summers's optic blasts, and John Wraith's teleportation power. Under the remote control of Stryker, Deadpool begins fighting Wolverine and Sabretooth and seemingly over-powers the pair. Wolverine eventually gets the upper hand and cuts off Deadpool's head.
In some copies of the theatrical release, there is a post-credits scene in which Deadpool's hand is seen reaching for his severed head, at which point, he opens his eyes and breaks the fourth wall as he whispers to the audience, "Shhh..."[67]

3. It has "character diaherria". That is, it shits as many characters and cameo's at you as possible in order to hopefully provoke a nostalgia response. Look at that, isn't that cool!? WAIT NOW LOOK AT THIS! NOW THIS!

Aristotle once said, "If it isn't important to the plot, CUT IT THE FUCK OUT OF THE SCRIPT". Direct quote. It's from the later years I think.

Eh.
The money, the demand and the cast of a potential epic.
It was a big "meh" from me though.

I thought the movie was pretty bad, as a prequel there are too many plot holes, as a stand alone movie there are too many plot holes, and as an adaptation it's not very faithful to the source material.

Edit: The game is very good. So a complete role reversal on this one.

I think you meant
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deathstroke

which is much much more of a blatant rip off.

If not, then while deadshot was bad, Deathstroke is much worse.

Agreed. And (this is the part where they completely lost me) They fucked up Gambit.

When he was first seen, I had my doubts but was willing to give him a shot. The stupid cards-glow-purple-arch-around-him-and-fly thing was retarded, but I was willing to overlook it.

Then he jumps down from a building, whirling his staff over his head like a helicopter blade, and it actually slows him down.

You lost me. You fuckers. Gambit was my favorite character. You mother fuckers....

Honestly, Deadpool started out as a parody of Deathstroke, but then became so much better than the original.

I'm still waiting for that Teen Titans movie, Warner Brothers.

Take solace in the face that Gambit wasn't the only character they fucked up. So many character stuff ups but I don't want to spoil this for people. They should be disappointed by their own will not mine.

I agree. I wanted to say somthing about Deadpool but cant w/o giving anything away about the movie. They could have expanded the role a bit more. Both actor and character would have been a good play for the movie.

As a long time collecter of Wolverine comics, since the 4 part comic book mini series, I was a bit disapointed. I wish they would have stuck to the Comic version of "Origins" more than creating the movie the way they did. I prefer the comic explanation rather than the movies for his mysterious past and why he forgot about it and several other points.

So far Frank Miller is the only one I've seen pull off good transitions between the two, comics and movies.

Though I'll probably buy the DVD, as a fan, I had expectations that maybe I shouldn't have had.

haha. Maybe they will do Magnetos movie or Wolverine 2 better. But probably not. Marvel really need the movie rights back to X-men, Spider-man and Fantastic Four. Then the world will be a better place.
