So I've been basically out of room on my Hard Drive for years, which has forced me to ignore basically all DLC or XBLA games.

Recently I got a new Hard Drive and I bought my first XBLA game since Geometry Wars, and frankly I loved it. The game I got was Bastion, and the game really touched me. The soundtrack when mixed with gameplay created something truly beautiful and unmissable.

So now i'm wondering, are there any other unmissable XBLA games? I played/beat Braid already, and Limbo's demo didn't really do anything for me.

I was told that Trenched was pretty good too... what else? I figured when it doubt ask the community here, since we generally know what we're talking about.

Do you have Shadow Complex? If I had an Xbox, I would own that game. It looks fantastic and holds an 88 Metacritic [http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/shadow-complex/critic-reviews] rating with only two review scores below 75.

Depends on what you like. Plants versus Zombies, Stacking, and Costume Quest are all really good.

Trials HD is a fantastic XBLA game, I played that for many more hours than some full games I have.

N+ and Super Meat Boy. Seriously. If you're in to nigh-masochistic platformers, these two will keep you entertained.

However, of the two, I'd recommend N+ the most. N+ has a level editor, 4 player multiplayer, and more content. (Arguably)

Give Limbo another shot seriously. I go through the puzzle more than once to finish them and I still jump every time I get killed.

Castle Crashers and I'll throw in another recommendation for Plants Vs Zombies.

Limbo.
Either or both of the Magic the Gathering games. (best value for money ever on xbla) (if you don't hate MTG)
Carcassonne. really great for local games.
Plants Vs Zombies.
and most recently From Dust.

Ninja'd twice already, but Limbo, it's a good game but also really creepy. Plants vs Zombies was good also, unless you don't enjoy a bit of tower defense.

if you haven't played Portal yet you could get still alive... but generally XBLA games are junk, the only real way of getting quality games of thoese prices is the reduced/preowned part of GAME/GameStation(i'm using UK stores, don't know anything about your WalMarts or any of those, sorry)

False. XBLA games are not all GREAT. But you can certainly do worse for your money than Limbo, From Dust, Braid, Shadow Complex, Trials.

Certainly I've never spent 10 bucks on gaming and done better than either of the MTG games from live.

I've been meaning to try that cold war out. I beat the original every way to sunday, really liked it. How does cold war stack up to the first?

Since no one else has recommended it yet, you should probably take a look at the Bastion too, especially if you're into "arty" games.

Zombies and Pterodactyls 20XX (or abbreviated: ZP2KX) made by the same guys who did 'I made a game with zombies in it'

This is an Indie Game, it costs a dollar (80 microsoft points) It have amazing multiplayer, dedicated servers displays ping and stuff it beats CoD's match making any day.

Its a twin stick shooter and plays like CoD4's Old school mode (find guns scattered around a map and pick 'em up.)

Your character has a jetpack or wings and you fly around killing stuff. Since the game isn't too popular when players don't fill a lobby the spaces are filled with well set bots.

There is also a practice option which also gives you experience towards character customization.

This is dollar for dollar the best game on the planet.

Would you rather buy a $1 mars bar? and spend hours slowly eating it or buy this fucking awesome game?

No Monday Night Combat? I really loved that game...

If you like TF2, Tower defense, or Bacon ads, check this game out.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Braid yet...?

amazing time-manipulating puzzle game. Beautiful backgrounds, ingenious puzzles, and gorgeous music. Definitely a must-try.

On an unrelated note... Comic Jumper was a thoroughly funny experience for me. Take a look at the demo and I dare you not to laugh.

One more for good measure: not origianly an XBLA game, Beyond Good and Evil really stole my time. Worth a poke if you're into action/stealth games with a heart underneath it all.

One more time:
Braid
Comic Jumper
Beyond Good and evil HD
