Most of those sales come from people who had to replace their Xboxs after the RROD
I have had mine for years, don't plan to replace it until the next-generation consoles come out.
Well there's that and the fact that most multiplatform games tend to sell the most on Xbox so if there aren't more Xbox's there's certainly more Xbox people buying games than other consoles.
In the US and the UK, the PS3 is more popular in Asia and the rest of Europe than the 360.
But yeah anyway as everyone's said repeatedly, no. of 360s shipped worldwide =67 million, no of PS3's shipped worldwide =63+million, no. of Wii's = 90 million
There is basically no difference between 360 sales and PS3 sales
Oh no I wasn't talking about systems, I was talking about sales of multiplatform games. Usually how it goes is 1. 360 2. ps3 3. PC. It's why say getting BF3 is better for Xbox because there's always going to be more support, it makes sense for PC because the game runs better and there's more freedom, whereas on the PS3 all you pretty much seem to benefit from is one disc.
I know you were, the point is, the chances are you're from a country where the 360 has superior popularity (just because of the demographics of the Escapist and that those countries tend to be English speaking), whereas if you go to other countries.
For example, in Germany the PS3 absolutely dominates software sales, to a much higher extent than the 360 does here

In their top 10 there isn't a single 360 game.
What I'm saying, what you're seeing isn't a higher percentage of 360 software sales because games sell more on the 360, but that you're looking at it from the perspective of a country with high 360 popularity, the situation is completely reversed in the non-English speaking parts of the world, where the PS3 tends to be popular.
I mean Japan they often don't even bother selling the 360 version
