Xbox 360 update

Hello Escapists,

I've had my Xbox 360 for about a year now and for the whole time I never updated it. Now, I want to install the fall 2010 update on my xbox. So I was hoping, can any fellow 360 users please tell me if I need to have the previous updates before I can install the 2010 update and wil the update include the content of all the older updates eg.playing original xbox games and media players.

I know it's a pretty noobish question but all advice will be very appreciated.

Just login to xbox live and it should automatically update for you. Everything will still be on your harddrive

What about all the features that came with older updates, will I stll get those?

Everything and more.

You will be able to play more original xbox games and run some more media formats.

I imagine that the content of all updates will be applied, but honestly, I have no idea. I think the system checks to see which updates you have and downloads all of those you don't, but I haven't knowingly had the experience.
Why haven't you updated in so long, just out of interest?

You won't lose anything, put it that way.

The only downside I noticed is that it no longer separates demos in the maretplace into thier own section.

Oh, and some people don't like the green and white.
