I don't even think we'll be able to use previously created Minecraft accounts on the Xbox version, and I probably won't bother getting it anyway, I need reasons to use my PC...

Did someone say Minecraft on xbox?

Nah, just kidding. but in all seriousness I don't think people who've bought the game get it for free on xbox, I've heard that they're doing sometthing different to just "Minecraft on a console" with it anyway so maybe we should just let time tell.
I think Activision could get behind that kind of release schedule.

The answer is likely no. For one, I highly doubt a 'promise' would hold up in court, especially since this isn't a different version as much as it is a different game. While it's the same game in terms of gameplay and graphics, it's made by a different company with a different platform in mind, not to mention since it's not being made by Notch directly his promises have no effect on that version.

I do wonder about the Android version though. It's still a 'pc' platform, and I think it'd be much easier to work out a way to make it free then the xbox version would be.

And for those saying 'well why would you want it on Xbox,' because some people may actually prefer using a controller for their navigation, or prefer having another copy of the game, not to mention the likely much better working online it'll likely have (if it has it). Asking friends if they want to play is much easier on systems then it is on PC. That's not to mention improved stability.

As for the customability thing, I've honestly never used any mods as I don't care about them. Most mods for a lot of games aren't all that great anyways, and very few ever seem to stand out enough for me to want to go through the hastle of dealing with a PC version of the game. I will admit that Minecraft is easily one of the more interesting cases of mods though, but I still don't care enough to go download most of them (though I might go download that world twisting one just for fun).

I can see the Android version being free, but you'll need an account to log in and play the game. Same thing could apply to the Xbox 360 version....

It said all future updates and versions were to be free.
Then Notch is an idiot, as well as anybody who feels that they deserve this for free based on such a comment.
I never said I actually think it should be free, And I don't. I was merely explaining what he said.

well i never saw the original agreement, but if it was worded as people have said on here, then yeah it could very well be available to those alpha owners. also to the people flying of the handle and saying he shouldn't be held by the comments he made need to shut up, when you sell something, you need to choose your words very carefully, that is the very premise of contract law

I will never understand people. Minecraft on the 360 is a step backward. No mods, custom content or texture packs for you!

Same goes for half the games in existence. Why anyone would want Fallout 3/NV/Oblivion on anything but a PC perplexes me for the exact same reason. Custom content is literally half the fun of these games.
Elitist I rather like oblivion on the ps3 mods aren't needed plus a decent pc is stupidly expensive well more expensive than 300$

the thing is that was notchs agreement to players of the computer versions he changed it in the beta but if its not getting developed by notch who made the agreement NOT Mojang notch wasn't in Mojang back then then the agreement doesen't apply since it was an agreement between notch and computer mojang and you
