I know it's nothing to get worked up about, but I'm a little sad that the original poster ended up on probation for this thread. I didn't see anything trollish or even malicious about it. It kind of made my day.

I feel like we were given a beautiful Fabergé egg, all enamel and gilt, studded with these tiny little gemstones that throw specks of coloured light every which way, and we placed it on the table and we smashed it with a hammer.

Now all that's left is sifting through the shards, and wondering, "wait, aren't these supposed to have candy inside?"

It might have been better not to start by insulting my intelligence (which is how I took it at least). I can see that my first comment would appear that way and I can mostly agree with you. If you don't understand something, especially a joke, why would you laugh at it? I did modify this position with my second post where I stated that I had read some of the posts explaining Sarte and that I still didn't find it funny. I don't know what else you would want from me: I didn't understand it, so it wasn't funny to me. I learned a little more about it, and I still didn't find it funny. I don't think I'm being childish in the least.

The situation would be similar if I played a short symphony by Haydn called "The Joke" for everyone and I doubt most people would get why Haydn considered it funny because most people probably haven't studied Classical music.

Another example that this site's userbase isn't as smart as a portion of it thinks it is. Even if you don't know much about philosophy (I don't like it), you could at least recognize the joke.

My one and only problem with Xbox is the $60 Gold membership fee to go online. It is too expensive for THE WAY I USE my Xbox. Otherwise its a great system.

I am not loyal, I tart around with all sorts of systems, at the moment I have four - count em - FOUR systems on the go:

-Xbox 360
-PS3
-Gamecube (9 years and still not bored with it)
-PC split between my low-power laptop and beast custom-built

See Xbox gets as little as a Quarter of my time and of the games I play on Xbox only a handful have any worth-while online mode; basically Halo Reach and... err... that would be it.

I may get Xbox Gold but it would be for only one or two games, I just don't think it is worth it.

Agreed. I'm an Xbox fanboy and I loved this (admittedly I had to read it twice). Getting upset about this at all is idiotic.
