Xbox Live Gets a Price Hike

Glad I only have a PS3.. MS are being clever. Just as Reach is about to come out they raise the price just slightly, then a few years from now again it'll go up. To the individual consumer it'll be nothing, but to MS they could be making huge amounts of extra profit just from that tiny raise..

I'm sure this won't affect anything. Both PSN and XBL have the same features excepting the fact that XBL allows for cross game chat(which is really useless IMO). PSN's two tier system sounds like the option MS should've taken though.

Probably won't change much overall. I bet a lot of the people who say they won't get it will cave after a few months (maybe even weeks) of no MW2. It doesn't affect me anyway, I don't have a 360, but I have friends with them and that's what I see them doing.

huh and they said espn would come at no extra cost. But please MS tell me why the price is truly raised. Are we getting dlc and arcade games cheeper? Will the connection be evn better. Or is it because after shutting down orignal xbox survers. You have less people paying you?

Don't see the fuss really, I just use the pre-paid vouchers I get from Game and it seems those prices aren't being changed.

I'd be fine with the price increase if they actually extended some of the supposed 'content' that is being paid for to areas beyond the United States. Otherwise, this really annoys me. I use it enough to still get my money's worth though, but it's a rather bullshit hike in price.

Way to go, Microsoft. Why are they really raising the price? I know their stockholders hate the Entertainment division and want MS to focus on OS and Enterprise, but squeezing their customers harder in a less profitable division is short-sighted, especially with Sony picking up market share. Even a measly $10 annual increase could create negative publicity that undercuts the division.

"Since launching Xbox LIVE in 2002 we have continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same. We're confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry.

Wait, what. Isn't PSN free? Does XBL have a lot more stuff on it? What he is saying doesn't make sense to me.

Yes it is. Yes it does.

No it doesn't. Xbox Live Gold isn't even worth using for free, let alone that it would have something that makes it worth paying for.

I don't buy cards often so this is not a huge set back to me. I only but a one month card when I want to play a specific game online for a month. Other than that my online play is on my computer.

Fucking Microsoft.

I don't play anything Multiplayer anyway, i play games for my lovely Single Player. So i'l only be using their stupid online servive for DLC and talking with friends.
