And here it is, the new dashboard of the Xbox360.
What can I say, it takes a bit getting used to.
Have to figure out where all my old buttons are, so to say.

So far, I have one little issue. When browsing through a games downloadable features and content, you no longer get a small description when you highlight the item, but now have to select it first.
instead of the old List on the Left: Description on the right. you now have 4 squares in the centre and no info until you actually open the square.

I do like the search feature.
Pressing Y almost anywhere brings you to the search bar, and lets you search a keyword, bringing up everything relevant, from movies to games and addons.

So, what are your thoughts about it so far?

If anyone found a way to watch the games trailer/teaser that you downloaded without starting up zune completely. Please share.

Otherwise it looks good , just something to get used too.

My main issue is the fact that on the very first screen, if you don't have your 360 set to autoplay, you see 5 squares. The two small ones on the right are adverts, as is the large one in the center (from what I understand anyway). The two small ones on the left are 'disc in tray' (top) and, 'your games' (bottom). I don't see why the disc in your tray had to be shoved to the side in favor of the giant advert for Xbox Live videos I've always ignored in the past. One more thing, why does your theme change on the Bing theme? I'm not anti-bing but those themes costs money and I would really rather have it displayed as often as possible.

Now that you mention it, that is kind of disappointing.
After al, it's the one screen that takes up the least space to show your background on, and it is changed to another.

Another note; the central advert thing under the home tab shows four bullet-points at the bottom. Couldn't you change those around in the previous UI? In this one there's no discernible way to skip through to see what the points are other than to wait the 15 - 20 seconds for them to cycle through naturally.

"Why the fuck are they changing my dashboard? What was wrong with the old one that I've only just gotten used to?"

I haven't actually downloaded it yet, but I will when I get home from work. It seems to me like the changes Facebook are always making, though; what's the point? People liked it the way it was before, why not just integrate whatever new features you're adding into the old interface without changing things around?

Also, while I'm ranting, what the fuck is the point of the new 'beacon' feature? I read about it, and thought "holy shit that's a good idea!". Then I read further, and saw that apparently only friends can see your beacon. Now what fucking use is that?!

If I wanted to play a game with a mate, I phone them or I send them a text message through Xbox Live. If I want to play a game that none of my friends have, for example Worms, I have to go online and try to connect and wait for ages before finally discovering that nobody else in the world is playing. A beacon that sent out "SonicWaffle is looking for someone to play Worms with!" to some sort of channel or something would be great, because then someone might say "Hey, I love that game! I'll go play with this random stranger!"

Just me being thick but it took me a while to figure out, so if it helps anyone you can actually switch tabs with the shoulder buttons, not the triggers as I was trying.

It took me like an hour to download last night because of connection issues with Live. Other than that its decent.

Not a big fan of it to be honest.
The whole thing just feels a bit cluttered to me; it just seems a lot less "stream-lined" than the old one.

Don't have any problems with it really...but it was a pain to download.

You can, I found that if you highlight it you can use the right analog stick to cycle through the others ads.
