Didn't see a live discussion going, so I thought I would start one. So far I've seen a lot of long winded people, but not much in the way of real information. On top of that, with the cloud discussion, it seems that the always on requirement seems to be a reality, though no real news on it yet.

So, anybody have any predictions or thoughts on the information given so far?

Interesting things for me thus far:
Nice television integration
Vastly improved Kinect (though I'm loathe to use it for gaming)
Actual Smart Glass implementation
Much faster than any gaming console since discs became the norm

I didn't realize that the Xbox One desperately wanted to be a TV Console until now. Half of the information has been about watching Television, with about 10 minutes being about actual video games. Can't say that I'm impressed with it at all.

Xbox, Go Home, You're Drunk.

Have to agree, other than the normal "extra power" deal that we usually get with a new console generation, there hasn't been anything to impress me gaming wise. They are just getting started on the gaming section though, so I am hoping (praying, but not holding my breath) that they have some good news.

I was also very disappointed with the whole Microsoft/EA collaboration. This seems like two evil masterminds joining up to beat a superhero, though honestly I have no idea who the hero is in this scenario. Perhaps the player?

"Xbox one". But it isn't.... IT'S THE FREAKING THIRD XBOX! >.<

This sounds almost as stupid as renaming Nintendo Revolution "Wii".

Don't mind me, I never intended to buy it. Just baffled by certain naming conventions. I kind of hoping they will name the next one after this one "Xbox Two" just to drive the point home.

In terms of stuff I actually care about, the only thing they said was confirming 8 gigs of RAM, and that that stupid fucking Kinect will come with the system, instead of being discontinued.

PC Master race, here I come.

Bloody hell I cant take it anymore I seriously think that was carefully designed to bore the hell out of me

lets look at TV - I dont watch TV
Sports games by EA - I dont like sports or EA
Forza 5 - dont like Racing games
Now its going into Sports live or some shit ARGHHHH
Oh and there was that bit with the Kinect 2 and it still seems pointless.

The newly redesigned D Pad could be good as the old one was terrible oh and the name Xbox one how anticlimatic was that lol.

Yeah just let me know if its always online, if you have to pay for Xbox live, the price etc.

What the hell was Quantum Break about whatever Ill look it up afterwards are all games conferences this boring? I cant stand the bullshit PR they keep spouting if I was there I would be climbing the walls to get out.

Just focus on the games pls Microsoft people can watch TV on their TV already. I like how its powered by magic though thats the future right there I bet you have to plug it in as well though.

Design wise I dont like the shape but thats being picky I dont care what it looks like I just hope it dosent shit itself and die like the 360 is so fond of doing.

The Wii was a pbrilliant name, the internet filled with Niontendo based Dick jokes for months, keeps people talking and remembering that a new console is coming out. 'Xbox 1' is more like 'Wii U', its dumb, but more in a forgettable way.

Watching the game videos all I am thinking so far, is that I need to upgrade my PC before the next wave of ports. I haven't given it a real upgrade in a while. I've just been doing minor cheap things for the past 7 years.

I actually like the new look quite a bit. It would fit in well with my entertainment system set up, but I will likely not be getting it as of yet. As far as always online, not sure yet, but it looks likely. As for the xbox live price, 9.99 still. They have announced it is working off of the current Xbox live setup.

And yes, this is much more boring than I anticipated it to be. In fact that is the very reason I made this thread. I promised all of my gaming buddies I'd watch it and fill them in, so I'm stuck watching this crap. Usually MSFT tries to at least put on a good show. At least I can look forward to Peter Molyneux, he is always entertaining to me. Honest, no, entertaining, yes

Yeah, and the most frustrating thing about the reveal is that without better info on the graphics capabilities I don't know what I'll need to stay inline with the console releases (because as soon as those are out, I expect minimum reqs to start shooting up as devs get lazy about optimization for low end hardware).

I'm not about t shell out for a 680 to stay on top of the PS4, but I'd like to know if I should get something cheap and plan to upgrade in 2 years or get something middle of the road and plan for it to last.

Honestly I say hold out for the next year or two, unless you need an upgrade to play what is out now. The new wave of console games will likely not see ports for a while, and the "One" isn't likely to be out until the holiday season at the earliest.

Well that was it, no Peter Molyneux, no questions, no discussion as to requirements, nothing I actually gave more than half a crap about. Honestly this was a waste of an hour for me.

So for anyone looking for a quick run down:
-New TV integration that allows you to use your Xbox as a sort of "smart TV", including kinect functionality.
-New Home screen functionality that allows you to instantly switch between apps, games, and television. Including a snap mode that allows you to do two things at once (probably the best feature of them all)
-15 games planned for release, with 8 of them being new IPs (also good news)
-Horrible new name, nifty new look (subject to personal opinion)
-Forza, FIFA, NBA, NFL, UFC, Call of Duty: Ghost, and Halo announced, as well as a Halo TV show tie in (because Defiance is doing so well /s)
-5 billion transistors and 8 gigs of ram (honestly I could care less about transistors, and would rather have specifics on the cpu and gpu)
-New studios trying to get in the mix, but they are crossovers from television giants (or something of that nature, honestly I fell asleep for a couple minutes)
-Kinect was actually improved upon (not like it took much)

That is all I can think of right now, I'll add more later if it comes to me.

I have to admit that you have a pretty damn valid point. The name "wii" did probably help a lot in marketing as it was a weird enough to be easily remembered by the causal crowd they tried and succeeded in attracting.

Why in the world Microsoft would want to call their third console "console one" is beyond me though,

I don't care about haters on this one:

I like the look of the new call of duty, not just graphics wise.

Seriously, this game looks great. If anything, I am reminded of a giant "All Ghillied Up" Mission styled game, doing something stealthy and then having set piece explosions and stuff trying to escape.

Just finished watching it. Initial thoughts. It is fanastic... as a TV box. As a console, meeeehh I think PC gaming is the way for me now. At least the showed the thing (unlike PS4), but there really wasn't games. It's not a game console anymore. Also, all this prattling on about wi-fi and the cloud have me thinking it's always on, so dealbreaker there. Also, have Mr. EA dickhead there nattering on about sports and shit didn't help. Me and my friend spent the whole time he was on making fun of his voice.

The only thing I got excited about was the Halo TV series, and I don't need an xbox for that.

Jeez, they spent half of it talking about sports. Sports games, sports television, sports stars - since when did gaming become all about sports? The only thing they showed that I was actually interested in was the Remedy game, and most of that footage was live action. I'm underwhelmed, to say the least.

EDIT: On the topic of name (which I keep sporadically laughing at for some reason), I think they called it that because of the whole 'everything in one place' deal they've got going on.

In all honesty, it looks only "okay" to me.
There are supposedly 8 new IPs in the works as exclusive, but since no details were given, I'm taking it with a grain of salt at the moment.

To me, it all comes down to whether I want the PS4 for its exclusives, or a new GPU for my PC, since I would estimate the costs to be around the same (if I include the price of getting a few titles)
