Not really a big deal but I'm noticing a pattern here.

They should change their motto to "Not at launch".
How about "XBox One all in one........ Eventually or "XBox One we're working on it"

I would love to see an advert on this now saying all the features they announced at launch then at the end of it have the terms and conditions guy run through everything they cut as fast as possible.
Pretty sure he'd bite off his tongue and die.

You know what would be sad?

If despite all the shit that happened, The DRM, The Kinect Spying, The Missing features, The blatant lack of respect for the Consumer.

That this Console still makes a profit because of all the COD Kids wanting the new Xbox without actually knowing what a Piece of Shit it was.

Well they want you to use the cloud to save stuff...also notice the "at launch" part. Until then you can just delete stuff you no longer need....if your not playing the game then delete it off your harddrive or use the cloud. This is just moaning for nothing - this is not a big deal, just ripe for a 1st word problem meme. Im waiting for a "XB1 doesnt play C64 cassettes" story.

Again...read....wont support external storage AT LAUNCH!! Or do you think you can fill up that drive within 2 days?
While it wasn't the norm, Playstation 3 games could take up to the entire 50gig capacity of a duel layered BD, and that was last gen. So 500 gigs, add to that the OS, any DVR'ed media (which is why there is no external HD options), save game files, and of course the full BD disk installs and you're going to use that 500gig HD quite quickly.

Also you think Microsoft would take a black-eye for a feature removal like this only to add it in within two days? or a month? Don't kid yourself you'll be lucky if Microsoft ever reverses this policy.
The 2 day thing was just a number i pulled out, even if it takes 6 months i dont think you will have filled up a 500gig hard drive, especially if cloud does what its meant to. From what i gather you cant transfer your saves from your 360 so you wouldnt fill half your HD just with your transferred stuff. For me i dont collect games, so once i finish it i would delete it off my hard drive and sell it. I guess on second thoughts i didnt take into account the record function it has may be a eat up the harddrive if its used alot - but again its another function i wont use nor online gaming either. So if you play a number of games online then yes the drive will fill up quick as you will want to keep them all on your hard drive and not reinstalling them all the time.

On my 360 i still have around 8g left on the 15g drive i had at launch. So I doubt i will ever fill up 500g. But then i dont use hardly anything on the 360, dont go online for gaming, rarely download DLC and dont collect games. So its not a problem for me, but if you are a major user of the XB1, saves all DLC and game installs, bought and uses all the features like recording vids of games etc then i can see that 500g might not sound like much.

But i also wouldnt be surprised if they did uturn. Although it makes me laugh that MS give out negative information without explaining. If they gave a date of 1 year, then it would make things alot easier for people.

Technically none of the Xbox consoles have really given Microsoft any profit whatsoever. They've been losing money on the Xbox Division since the original Xbox, which is why many more analysts (although I'd take most of those with a grain of salt) are saying for Microsoft to sell of the Xbox Division as opposed to Sony Analysts saying to sell of the Playstation division. Not to mention that there is more of a chance of that happening with Steve Ballmer leaving in 12 months or so, something that has been long overdue.
360 has made some profit, but that's probably all be used up with the Xbox One sorta like how Sony lost all that money they made with the PS2 when the PS3 launched. It'll be interesting to say the least, but the Xbox One more than likely isn't gonna break even for Microsoft at all. At least that's what I think.

I still find it baffling that they decided to keep such a small drive for something that was going to have DVR capability; I'd have thought at least 1TB would be needed for an all in one.
Really you would think that they'd do this. Apparently though the Xbox One allows actual capture cards to connect to it and to be used now, so I guess it can differentiate a game between a movie when it comes to the HDCP encryption. If this is true, then that's one positive thing the Xbox One has. One positive thing in a sea of negatives. XD

I'm not getting one, but I don't see how this is a problem. After a while, yes, but you should be able to go a few months with 500 GB even of you only buy digital.
Well, It mightn't be that long, considering the Xbone's Gimmick is installing games on the HDD and making the Disk usless afterwards.
I thought they already went back on that. Besides, unless you buy five games a month it shouldn't be a problem right away.

It would take maybe an hour of R&D time to patch in the standard USB 3.0 I/O kit.
This isn't some new fangled tech, it's a connection standard used on nearly bloody everything the world over.

If there is a technical limitation to overcome, it's involves DRM.
Probably to keep people from sharing their games via USB HDDs.

Either that, or they're actually going to slowly move back towards the original DRM platform over the life of the console.
(unlikely but possible, and that would require DRM-locked HDDs)

I think that was just the fact you needed to Log in order to do that, it's still an option I think, Not too sure :/

You'd think the company that makes Windows would easily be able to give a product of theirs the ability to use external hard drives. You know...like Windows does...

As far as I'm concerned, since I haven't touched a sonsole since the late 90s, consoles only need just enough storage to hold game saves.

oh come on, now is like if they are trying to make the thing fail. First the DRM, then they removed it, then the camera, now it is not going to be always on (hopefully), after that there was the voice commands, now this.... really? I wonder if that thing will work once it is available.
