Some more info about it...

From Eurogamer: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-13-poland-and-portugal-not-supported-at-xbox-one-launch-importing-near-ruled-out
A man called Robert Hallahan asked: "Does the Xbox One disclaimer imply you won't be able to authenticate a disc-based game if not in one of the 21 countries?"

Xbox Support worker Phil replied: "The Xbox One will only be available in the 21 launch countries."

Hallahan responded: "But say someone from Poland, not listed, imports it from the UK. Will they be able to play disc-based games?"

Phil answered: "They would want to wait until the console is available in their region."
And from Twitter: https://twitter.com/il_cattivo/status/344917513903144960
Ildikó Tóth: and what's about If I'm professional, and I am moving around the globe and I move into a non-listed country?

Xbox Support: You would need an account set up for an Xbox Live enabled region, here's some more info: http://xbx.lv/19q5Pgv
So, I guess that confirms it: Microsoft will have some IP location software in place to make sure only "enabled" regions of the world are able to use it, similar to how some videos work on Internet.

Fun fact: The Xbone requires a 1.5Mbps connection to even go online. Which restricts its audience even further.
Have you got a source for that? Not that I'm doubting you, it's just that I live in the UK and I don't get that kind of speed anywhere in the house, because I have to make do with an awful wifi connection. What on earth would it need all that bandwith for?
It's a "recommended" speed rather than a minimum, but it still doesn't bode well.

http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/connected

For an optimal experience, we recommend a broadband connection of 1.5Mbps. (For reference, the average global internet connection speed as measured recently by Akamai was 2.9 Mbps). In areas where an Ethernet connection is not available, you can connect using mobile broadband.
It could be recommending that because of multiplayer, though.

Something came to mind: if I buy the console in the USA, will it run in Brazil, or will they block it via IP (so they force us Brazilians into paying the way overpriced value those consoles arrive)?
That is a pretty good question.

On PSN, I have an US account (because my country doesn't have a store), but the only consideration I have is using prepaid cards and the only part that doesn't work is the video store (because its content is locked by IP). I know most people don't know yet, but what does this restrictions means?
Same here, we do have a PSN and Xbox Live in Brazil (as well as iTunes store), but they are all shitty in content if compared to what is offered in the USA, so I do the same as you, I have an american account and use gift cards to purchase stuff. Microsoft, however, has even a few DEMOS blocked because of IP. People go around the issue doing VPN and all, but that's too much trouble in my opinion...

I am from Uruguay, so I know exactly how that is. There are ways to bypass that security, like setting a US proxy in the broadband connection, but they are too much hassle to set just to play some games and they are not guarantied to work."

From twitter: "We do not currently support using an account from a region in which you do not reside."

Ok Microsoft, I am out.

The list of what Xbox CAN'T do compared to PS4 is hilariously long... and growing.
I'd like to criticise that graphical represenation.

North Korea doesn't have the required technology to run a PS4.
Otherwise its spot on.

(I joke, but seriously this is the most rediculious business model I have seen)

The captcha can even work this shit out.

I am quite surprised that they haven't included the Baltic states though, as I was under the impression that they had rather good internet and whatnot.
Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and even Croatia are quite on par with the Baltic states. And they have decent and reliable internet too. Romania/Bulgaria not so much, I suppose. And as you said it's baffling that Spain and Italy are in there while Portugal isn't, for example...Malta also doesn't seem to be doing too badly, and Luxembourg, a filthy rich country, isn't on that list, either.

And really, if Russia is included, it's baffling that the rest of the EU isn't - I mean, or are they just trying to not piss off uncle Putin, or something?

Here it is. [http://www.gamesthirst.com/2013/06/12/xbox-one-requires-minimum-internet-speeds-of-1-5mbps-to-function/] Perhaps it's simply to try and support Microsoft's claims that the Xbone does processing on the cloud, or maybe it actually does. Still, connecting once a day shouldn't require that much speed.

I think they only care about the NA market if you live anywhere else they dont give a shit. but then again they are treating even that market like shit thanks to their business practices.

As for their sales predictions I hope the Xbone does as well as it deserves.
XD. Well, I'd like to see them manage 400 million sales in a country with 400 million people in it... XD

For that matter, They predict 400 million sales... in 21 countries?

Let's look at that list for a moment:
(rounded down to nearest million - quite large rounding error for some, but had to be consistent.)
Australia - Population 22 million
Austria - 8 million
Belgium - 11 million
Brazil - 196 million
Canada - 34 million
Denmark - 5 million
Finland - 5 million
France - 65 million
Germany - 81 million
Ireland - 4 million
Italy - 60 million
Mexico - 112 million
Netherlands - 16 million
New Zealand - 4 million
Norway - 4 million
Russia - 143 million
Spain - 47 million
Sweden - 9 million
Switzerland - 7 million
United Kingdom - 62 million
United States - 313 million

Total 1,208 million

So... They expect 1/3 of EVERYONE in these countries to buy one? (1/3 of TOTAL population... Including infants, children, the elderly, men, women... Everyone.)

Wow. You've got to give them credit for their insane optimism... XD

I think they are hoping to get the sales by making people buy the Xbone multiple times just like with the 360 because I mean hey if they put up with the failure rate of that console and are willing to overlook whats on offer with the Xbone then theres no reason to assume they wont also fork out multiple times for it as well.

Although I think 400 units would be a more realistic figure.
