PS3 - announced loads of great games.
360 - Alan Wake.

Not as easy as it looks. Really want Alan Wake.
This has been bugging me. What exactly are you supposed to be doing in Alan Wake? I haven't yet seen a trailer of what the game is. I would really like to know, I want to figure out if I should get it for the 360 or the PC.

On topic, 2009 is looking more geared towards the PS3 and Killzone 2 is amazing. Obviously the 360 has more games(what with the bonus year and all), however whether those games and controls are good is subjective. Mooch off a friend for a while to find out what you want.

I personally like the 360 for its achievements and gamerscore deal. It has really good games. HDMI on the elites. My xbox 360 never broke down ever since they came out. Then when the elites came out, I bought one of them and I still have it. I gave my other xbox to my little brother who uses it about 3-5 hours a day after school and then we go to hockey for the other 3 hours before sleep.

The only reason I'd ever buy a ps3 is to play Little Big Planet, Killzone2, and Resistance. The free online is pretty badass.

With the 360 I think you'd have a greater selection of AAA games but the plus side with the PS3 would be that you have better titles to look forward to in the immediate future.

My personal experience is the 360 is a hell of a console but with Microsoft refusing to refund E74 error consoles you could fall victim to something you should avoid and the PS3 still doesn't justify its high price tag.

I think get a DS or a decent PC for now and make that your main platform and then wait for the errors with the 360 to get resolved or for more good titles and a price drop on the PS3.

As an owner I wouldn't vouch for either as your main gaming platform.
