Guys, remember we aren't the main demographic anymore. We are now the niche, so in short the list makes sense.
It's a sad state of affairs indeed when the people who spend their free time and disposable income playing video games are not the target audience for companies that produce video games. They are more interested in getting a 72 year old woman to stand up and flail her arms like she's having an coronary event.

"Mom, I think Grandma is having a stroke!" "No, Honey. It's all right! She's just playing Wii Sports Resort!"

What makes anyone think the WII was even good for this decade. I bet it'll lead to more broken bones and shattered windows than some random guys starting a football game in a back yard.

Since when are we taking Yahoo seriously?
The people who take yahoo seriously are probably the types of people that think most of the games on the list are teh best of the decade. I guess Yahoo are just appealing to their fanbase?

I dunno but not many of those are "Gamers" games.

What? Every one was a game that completely redefined a genre. Think of all the imitators that tried to capture the same appeal - how many games went sandbox after GTA 3, for example.

So yeah, despite this being yahoo, that list is fairly good. You're free to disagree, of course, but I'm inclined to believe this would be due to having set the wrong perspective. You were probably expecting "top ten" in terms of the best examples of each kind, not realizing it was more about games which changed the face of gaming.

Well, maybe not Super Mario Galaxy on the grounds that you don't see a whole lot of platform-jumping-3D-around-planets games. Yet. Maybe it's supposed to represent the Wiimote or something. Well, no, that's really Wii Sports' shtick. Okay, I agree with that list except for Super Mario Galaxy but forgive them in that it barely snuck in at 10th place. Gears of War probably should have had that spot instead, since its cover-based system has caught on as a staple.
