Hi everyone. I've noticed that the popularity of Yahtzee has rapidly shot up over the past few weeks possibly because he's a pretty decent reviewer. I'm writing to let everyone know that I've started a group on Steam Community known as the Yahtzee Appreciation Society which is basically a sort of fan club without the creepy T-Shirts and the impending restraining order afterward. Just join up and chat about Zero Punctuation related stuff. Plus every week a link to the latest review will be available on the site with a small preview of what the review is about
Just search for YAHTZEE in group search or go to steamcommunity.com/groups/zeropunctuation
See you there

Jazz

Edit: Thanks for the spelling mistake and you're pretty much right. Oh well....

Man.. a Yahtzee fan club? Really? I know this post may make me the most un-popular person on this forum.. possibly on ANY gaming forum, but isn't that a bit extreme? I have watched every one of his vid-reviews, read most of his text reviews and his book on his website, so saying that I am a fan is nearly an understatement... but extolling the virtues of 'Teh s00p3r 4w3s0m3z Croshaw' with an online wank club seems..creepy... to me.
Course any fan club seems creepy to me. Putting that much of yourself into another human being should only be done with children and spouses/life mates.

Again, the guy is F! hilarious, no doubt about it, but this? He's just a guy. A funny guy I will 'tune in' for every video, but just a guy all the same.
Weird, man. Windowless van weird.

Yeah, he's funny, and everything, but seriously? A fan club? What the hell are you going to talk about?
"Oh, did you see the new ZP this week?"
"Yes."
"Good, wasn't it?"
"Yes."
"Cool."
Yeah, riveting stuff. I can't wait to join right away.

THANK YOU! I was sure I was going to see my screen burst into flames once the replies started up..
Now if you want to start up a MonoDiabloLoco fan club, that would be perfectly understandable.
I joke! I joke! (do it now) I joke!

A yahtzee in yahtzee is indeed a super rarity, LordKaT, but I think that the odds increase after 12 Rolling Rocks. Well, that's the only time I've gotten more than one in a series of games. (3 in one night!) We should all drink 12 or more Rolling Rocks and give this theory a try. Well, you underaged people just... umm... go do whatever it is that underaged people do these days and leave us to our alcoholism..YAHTZEE... I meant 'our yahtzee'... yeah....

Speaking of....

The probability is (arguably) 1 in 27 to roll a Yahtzee - but even that assumes that the player is targeting a yatzee and doesn't get tempted to go for a straight after the first roll, or take a random full house after roll two. These are things that happen in real games, so the real odds are a little less.

http://www.yahtzee.org.uk/theory.html

The odds of drawing a straight flush while playing Dead Man's Hand are significantly higher!

Hear Hear! The official monodiabloloco fan club is open for business!
I won't even charge to join! I will only require (give your first born) a favorite quote from anyone you want (and beer). Famous, not so famous, living under a bridge and smelling like bad salami.. anyone!
I will start with a bit of philosophy from Paco:
"The key to living happily is to find one person every day that you are glad that you aren't. If you can go out into public and find that one person, it'll make you happier to be you. Then, you can float on with your day and grin. If you can't find even a single person in the world around you that makes you glad to be you... go to Wal-Mart. If you still can't find anyone there; buy a shotgun and Cobain yourself."

Share a quote. Join my free (beer and firstborn) fanclub.

Maybe he meant condescending?

Or, perhaps it was literal.. like how Croshaw comes down on games.. like descending upon them in a somewhat feral way. OOh! Or maybe he means De-scent! Like to take the stink out of the review process!
Yahtzee Croshaw: Taking the stink out of buying games so we don't have to wallow about in the crap.

I think you could start a Yahtzee Appreciation Society... but he'd forever hate you and you families, children, ancestors, pets, pet's families, children and ancestors, your house, it's architect, their families, children, ancestors, and pets. Yes, you get the picture.
