Yahtzee Leaving the Escapist/Reviewing?

Three years of providing entertainment to the unwashed masses have opened many doors to Yahtzee. He has written a novel, opened a bar and has an interesting future ahead of him. Doing video game reviews, while fun and interesting, can become more of a chore than anything else.

I hope that I'm just being pessimistic, and that Yahtzee will not be leaving the Escapist or reviewing in general. However, should he decide to pursue other avenues, I will be in full support of his ambitions.

And here I was thinking there was some kind of evidence for this beyond, "It's dull, and he might".

Obama might streak naked throughout Washington DC tomorrow, but there's no real reason to think that he would beyond the fact that it's possible.

What brought this thought on? his special thing-a-ma-gig on Friday?
I had similar thoughts when The Escapist reported on what a hit he was a week back.

Still even if he does it shant have an impact on me, ill remain here, watch the other video's the Escapist has to offer and just casualy check up on Yhatzee's stuff from time to time, why be so upset if he left?.

He's only under contract, remember; ZP started out as a YouTube series and he's made no secret during his reviews of how irritating its fanbase gets.

Regardless; this is conjecture.

Don't ever make posts like this, it is very misinforming and may cause hysteria.

Well, considering what he has on his plate at the moment, it may be possible. Perhaps, into the likely territory.

Perhaps it could be an announcement that he is moving to the US and will not be available to review in the interim. Maybe he is planning on getting trampled by Elephants or Fanboys.

I hope I am wrong, but the guy is busy.

If The Escapist loses Yahtzee.....well there goes a lot of site traffic so in the business sight, I'm sure they keep him well paid to stay till we grow tired of him, then he will leave.

Luckily Yahtzee isn't the only good thing on The Escapist! But even if he does go... Who's to say someone BETTER (gasp!) might take his place?

That's an incredibly inflammatory thing to say. You really wouldn't stay on these forums because one video series is missing?

Personally if he goes I wouldn't mourn for long; although the Escapist would probably need to poach something with an existing and large fanbase to make up for the loss in traffic, we've still got Unskip, LRR, ETTM, and of course everyone on here. <3

How is an opinion misinforming? I did not present it as such. In fact, I made it abundantly clear that it would make sense if he is leaving the Escapist, given the potential future he has carved out for himself.

You said it yourself; it's an opinion. It has no factual basis whatsoever.

So... do you just have any evidence or news that Yahtzee is going to leave or are you just saying "It's possible that Yahtzee can leave if he wants to"?

The way you worded the title makes people think it's true.

Why? There is a lot of other excellent content on this site.
Yep, but Yahtzee is kind of a pillar of the earth kind of thing, so this just wouldn't be the same.
