Yahtzee needs to take a break from Zero Punctuation.

Usually the episodes are really funny if-

He absolutely loves the game and finds out funny metaphors for it, such as Lucy from assassins creed 2 being a fish woman.

OR

He hates the game and the entire video is a swearing competition with him and the game.

I enjoyed the Deathspank/Limbo one. No complaints here.

Same here, I kinda liked it too.

But for the rest of the time, really I think the problem for me is Yahtzee has become too predictable. I knew he wasn't going to be interested in SC2 and I knew he was going to like Limbo. I've seen enough of his videos to where I know the man's taste, and since I can't relate to the guy half the time that loses a lot of the entertainment value for me.

No he doesn't. His videos are as good as they've ever been, just the absolute terrible year for gaming that 2010 has been is having its effect.
It's more like comic who has been given the topic of airplane food to work with.

i've found that some of Yahtzee's best reviews are entertaining and hilarious because the game he's reviewing has something really worth commenting on, be that something good or bad. ZP has always had a run of bland reviews every now and then, but they could sometimes be just down to a series of average games being released.

Just when you hear the same thing over and over it does kinda lose it's luster. But I still get a giggle from it week to week.

Just because you don't enjoy it as much now doesn't mean he's wrong just that your wrong and that you won't be happy until his show bends to your every desire.

I desire jokes that don't feel forced, is that really too much to ask?

Have you tried Doraleus and Assosciates? The new one should be out sometimes today.

If that fails, try that other new series, extra credit. If that fails, somethings horribly wrong with you watched Agents of Cracked from, well, Cracked.com.

I find after watching a a lot of Yahtzee I get bored of him for a while... but then if I come back later I'll find him really funny again, even episodes I didn't like the first time around. I think it just comes down to taste really. *shrug*

Seriously, the later videos have as much of the wit and inane metaphors as the old one - likely everyone has just warmed to it now, and it's no longer so shocking.

A lot of his recent Zero Punctuation videos feel like they are just lacking in quality to me. Its like watching a really bad comic trying to do stand up but halfway through he realizes that he isn't funny at all so he decides to just insult everything and act like a prick. Perhaps he just needs to take a week or two off.

What do you think of the recent Zero Punctuation videos in comparison to the older ones?

I think Yahtzee just insults everything on principle... Plus, its kinda hard to tell when he actually liked a game, because he rips on it just as bad as the ones he hates. Only exception to that is Portal.

I disagree, well I agree about this week, it wasn't funny. But Yahtzee just has offweeks, Crackdown 2 and Singularity were both pretty funny in my opinion.

I took a few weeks off from watching ZP and came back and still loved it. Although, aside from ZP there are only a handful of videos I watch here.

Movie Bob and Unskippable are about it, everything else just doesn't appeal to me.

The people who review the games, Funk and that one girl have zero personality and are quite difficult to watch in my opinion, no offense to them of course. They're just not my style.

And don't get me started on ENN... Hey, I have an idea. Let's copy the Onion, but make it about video games and suck while doing it.

Cool, someone else noticed. It's only took a year. Either he's an appaling cynic garnering a career from commenting on a media he loathes to an audience he despises, or he's a shit comic dragging out the same one act ad nauseum.
He needs a break in the same way my Grandad's having a 'long sleep'. And he needs to stop doing a poor man's impression of Chris Morris where his delivery is concerned (Yeah thats right ZP you shrimp eyed beardy fuck-you aint the only one who's watched Brass Eye)
Ah well, at least we have unskippable - that new extra credit thing looks to have potential too.
