Oh boy, more limited time outfits that RNGesus will screw me over on obtaining. Gotta love that false scarcity to squeeze more money out of people. I thought I was in the clear after the Christmas event; I would have hoarded my coins if I knew (I've been buying up all the cheap sprays and voice lines to "clear the board" and get a slow but steady coin flow going from dupes). Oh well, lesson learned. Still, it'll be fun to see them on other players.

I would have agreed with you back in the summer games update because you couldn't even get those skins with coins.

But now you can (Granted at 3x the price) so atleast that means if you save up you can get any skin you want without having to play the stupid slot machine.

Not necessarily an event from what I see, so these just may be like the new legendary skins we got for Reinhardt when Eichenwald came out.

Though if it is an event, I have about 5k creds stocked up, so even if the RNG isn't with me, I should bag them both.

True, though it's still rough for relatively new players like myself. I'm pretty much broke in terms of coins right now, so I'll have to either get lucky with the event crates or grind for coins with the normal ones (I refuse to pay real money for crates out of principle).

Like I said, lesson learned. I'll be sure to hoard my coins next time. Still, it would be nice if the event items remained obtainable as long as you had an active account at the time. They could ramp up the coin cost even further after the event and I wouldn't mind, as long as it was an attainable goal.

You can probably blame League for this, because it is their favorite thing to do with every imaginable holiday.
Lately specific themed chest per holiday with crafting elements in each one so you will inevitably need more chests to craft more things.

Trying to "clear the board" to get money from dupes is an incredibly silly thing to do.

Each item costs 5x when you get back as a duplicate, so you're losing tons of in game currency for no reason of you're just buying random sprays and voice lines you don't want or need just in case you get a dupe later.

About the only reason to do it at all is if the remaining sprays/voice lines for a particular character will put you over the top for 50 unlocks achievement... and even then only if you care about achievements.

I agreed with that, maybe make the price x10 or something when the event isn't on. This would still keep the skins rare but also mean that if you really wanted it you could get it.

OT, I don't really care for the Winston, D.Va or Roadhog skins, but I would definitely like to add those Mei, Rein & Zen skins to my collection.
