My smokes taste like a little bit of heaven each time.

I also look so bad ass whilst smoking, everyone does!

And yes, smoking has dangers. So does leaving your house, staying inside the house, plugging something in, switching on a light, crossing the street, getting into a car, getting into a plane...and so on.

I don't care if you sit there and kill yourself even faster. Its fine with me. People going about telling other people how to live their lives annoy me. As long as you aren't interrupting their lives, you're fine.

You know what I hate more than second hand smoke? People who spread the cold virus by coughing and sneezing in public, not washing their hands, touching their sniveling faces, and worst of all, bringing their snot-nosed brats into public to spread their germs. Compared to these inconsiderate disease-mongers second hand smoke doesn't bother me at all.

Alcohol is far more evil than tobacco, it makes people violent and incompetent, binge drinking is everywhere (ever heard of binge smoking? maybe as a joke but not really). It's ridiculous how alcohol commercials are allowed on TV but tobacco is not, and at the end they say "always drink responsibly" even though that is total bullshit and they know that underage teens and college kids love to binge drink their product. All of the public education we dedicate to anti-smoking, there should be at least twice as much effort towards anti-drinking.

The anti-smoking lobby wanted to put graphic images of cancer victims on cigarette packs, but alcohol can run multi-million dollar TV commercials to advertise how sexy and fun and cool their product is? People are so dumb.

I couldn't give two shits that you smoke... I'm probably one of the minority that is both bewildered and confused by this painfully bad phrase. Please use more appropriate description if you insist on being so pretentious.
Well obviously you're bewildered because you don't have any experience with quality tobacco. Maybe you can start to learn from watching these videos:

If you smell(quite a lot I mean with this) I will keep my fare distance from you since I can't stand the smell, that and people that smoke in public I don't like either and will just outright refuse to hang around.

Second hand smoke is a thing, you know.

An estimated 46,000 deaths from heart disease in people who are current non-smokers
About 3,400 lung cancer deaths as a result of breathing SHS
Worse asthma and asthma-related problems in up to 1 million asthmatic children
Between 150,000 and 300,000 lower respiratory tract infections in children under 18 months of age, and lung infections resulting in 7,500 to 15,000 hospitalizations each year
http://www.cancer.org/Cancer/CancerCauses/TobaccoCancer/secondhand-smoke

So yes. If you smoke, you're a terrible person and you should feel terrible. If you smoke around other people, well, look above. If you smoke by yourself, then cancel your health insurance. I don't pay taxes so that they can go treat people with self-inflicted lung cancer and other bullshit.

Well, I do, but I don't want to. At all.

At my heaviest I was never a "full time" smoker, averaging about 1 1/2 packs a week.
These days I go through maybe two packs and maybe 5 cigars a year.

It drives me up a god damned wall to see the way smokers or smoking is vilified and those "Truth about tobacco" ads are so phenomenally insulting to the intelligence that I can't begin to comprehend the kind of self righteous prick who designed them.
My reasons for hating them aren't because I want to be free to smoke whenever and wherever I damned well please (Although the fact that I can't smoke in a bar anymore really does irk me)
No my reason for hating them is because they're the worst kind of propoganda and zealotry masked as "truth" most of which is based on flawed data and misrepresented information.

Yeah I know it's bad for me, everyone with the common sense of a garden slug knows it's bad for you. Nobody in their right minds these days lights something on fire, inhales the smoke and says "I'm taking my vitamins!"

None of those things are directly dangerous to my health.

Just don't smoke around me or anyone else that smokes and we're fine, mk?

If you're ok with the health problems of smoking, go ahead, but it can and does harm others. As long as it's not affecting anyone else, 12 packs a day I say!

I spend about two hours walking about outside every day, which involves walking straight through more clouds of smoke than I can count. If someone ahead of me is blowing smoke at me I have to carefully time my breathing to avoid as much of it as possible (still not enough), if they're behind me I can't see them, so even that small relief isn't an option. Whenever I walk in or out of a building there's a thick haze of smoke around the entrance. People smoke on train stations, do you know how difficult it can be to avoid that? Smelling smoke doesn't mean you know where it's coming from, so I'm standing in smoke for a few minutes before I can find out where the smoker is and avoid them, but in certain winds a narrow platform can be completely covered in the stuff (especially when there are multiple smokers there). Then when you finally get onto the train you occasionally experience the joy of sitting near a smoker and having that smell in your lungs the entire trip, or occasionally some kid who thinks he looks like a badass decides to fuck tha police and smoke on the train. I've never even touched a cigarette in my life and I wouldn't be surprised if I've inhaled enough smoke to cause health issues. Even if I haven't, that shit smells awful.

Now I'm not saying that the OP has done any of this to me (or anyone else, for that matter). I know people who smoke and don't think any less of them for it. But I really, really hate the whole disgusting habit, because it's not just the smoker who suffers for it. I'm subject to toxic fumes multiple times each day just because someone decided that they couldn't last another minute without a smoke. Perhaps people are making unreasonable accusations, but they have their reasons for hating smoking. Unless you never stand within a hundred metres of anyone else, it isn't just a personal lifestyle choice that affects you and only you.

I have always wondered before why people smoke, but I never even looked down on them. That was 2 years ago; now I'm a regular smoker of at least 4 cigs per day. Cigs have this eloquent taste, and because of this I smoke if I'm doing nothing just to remove my boredom (Nothing like a good ole Marlboro to liven up my day). During these 2 years, I have discovered one thing: There are a lot of self-righteous pricks who think lowly of me and our certain category.

Example statement that I overheard just a few days ago:

"Ugh, I don't smoke like him. I'm not an ex-convict."

I turned and looked for the guy (I'm pretty sure from the pitch of the voice) to confront him but didn't find him because either the guy was a ninja or my eyes were broken.

Question: Pretty much what the title says.

Off T: Noticed my join date in the Escapist jumped to 1970 o_O.. Glitch?

EDIT: No, I never "smoke people in the face", I consider it rude anyway and don't worry I strictly follow "no Smoking" policies. I'm also pretty much aware that we stink. Yeah I'm a dirty bastard blabla. I'm just disappointed at the fact that people here in our area don't use THESE as their reasons but rather rely on a defective moral crapfest.

And yeah I know the dangers of smoking, I bet even a dog would know that. I'm not that too concerned about my life span though; if I die because of this then so be it. It's not like I lived a miserable life.

EDIT2: To everyone who commented that I'm stupid because I smoke, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You all changed my life completely. >xD

Lol seriously, no offense taken. ;)
the worst example of this I've ever come across, was a few years back. i went to see a few bands preform at the local university (university of Alberta) in the dinwoody(sp)lounge, paid cover got a wristband for entry and one for the beer garden (it was an all ages show) had a few beers, and wanted a smoke, so i walked back to the entry, told them i was going to run outside for a smoke, they told me i would have to pay cover again if i left. i asked them what they expect i do then, and they said that i "shouldn't f'n smoke".
i told them where they could stuff it, got my friends and we all left to spend out money elsewhere.
I managed to quit smoking 4 months ago (i was a pack a day smoker) but trust me it has nothing to do with the attitude i received above.

All I can say is, if you like the taste of prepackaged cigarettes, I feel bad for you. The shit they do to that tobacco (and that paper) is fucking awful. So no, you're not the devil... you're somewhat pitiable.
...I smoke a pipe, maybe once a month, if that (also hookah, when offered).

Don't worry, you're not the devil, you're just Hitler NO, BAD ME!

I don't really have a problem with smokers, so long as they're polite about it (Like you seem to be), and show some self control while in other people's homes/businesses I'm fine with them. The only real 'problem' I have is that I find smokers extremely unattractive (which is a problem with me not them), that smell just... just no.

I like to think of it as a very expensive hobby that also kills you slowly.
Just don't do it around me

I'm not a regular smoker, because I find the stench of regular smokers to be really gross, but I do smoke cigars casually with friends on occasion, usually with some form of alcohol to accompany us. Feels good, man.

True story: The Third Reich was one of the first governments, and the first major government, to outlaw smoking inside government buildings.

So, yeah, smoking is worse than Nazism, right?

Yes. Yes you are. Nah, not really. If you want to smoke and you think smoking is fine then good for you, why should other's opinion matter? So listen to my opinion.

I'm too young to legally smoke but I've had oppurtunities to and I've never taken any of them. Despite the fact that both my Dad and my older brother are both heavy smokers, smoking is something that I will just never do. Not because I'm too good or some bullshit like that, it just doesn't appeal to me.
