Alot of people did't like Metallica's album St. Anger, but I like it. It's not great, but hey, it's metal, love it or leave it.

My first question is why is the OP writing like he's an extra from Firefly?

But back on topic, the following are things I like that I acknowledge aren't very popular:

Red Faction: It came out at around the same time as the original Half Life but I still feel this was the better game (ok, there was no crowbar but we got to use a fucking nuclear missile launcher). I also enjoyed Red Faction II (not as much as Red Faction one but I still felt that it was a damn good game).

Power Metal: I'll admit, I just like the guitars.

Old fashioned FPS games: These days people demand more depth and intellect in their games, fair enough, but I ask that I also be able to play a game where I can run around hacking demons up with a chainsaw with 200% health and armor. Allow us to have the best of both worlds.

Hey, i'm right there with ya...th'show is great, th'vamps actually act like vampires, and considering how much time Anna Paquin shows us her "Rogues" on that show, what "straight male" wouldn't love that show!?
She does indeed get two of her most important qualities across in that show...

And by that I mean TITTIES!

i the only reason i never really liked smallville was due to the unwavering clark kent moral compass, i just find him irritating. i mean what's an origins story without a little moral ambiguity?

OT: the smell of petrol.

You've got to give them some credit. It takes a twisted sort of genius to come up with Sharktopus. Or this.

Okay, so I only watched a little of each at a friend's house, though I know how both go. That said, I wasn't aware there was any hate.. well, for Seed, anyway. Not typically an anime fan (I know it's not all the same, but to be fair, I don't watch anything on TV), but I've got to say, it seemed pretty decent.

That, and Rau is a fantastic villain. Quite aside from about 80% of his lines being composed of pure awesome (okay, less so in English, but the original is good). Particularly impressive to me since dialogue for... just about anything written in Japanese is rarely memorable. I'm not sure why, just seems to be the case.
Most Gundam fans consider Seed/Destiny the most horrible shit ever spawned from Sunrise. It's funny to me.

Why do you do that? Seriously? It made the entire post extremely difficult to read and I know for a fact that it is more difficult for you to type things like that than to type out the entire word.

OT: Why are you getting upset because people bash things you like? If you like them, then why the hell does it matter whether other people like those things too? Not everyone likes everything. Opinions differ between different people. Get over it. Not everyone will share your opinion. Welcome to real life.

Major props to you for writing this. Too few people are "positive" these days, rather than the numerous "why the hell do you/don't you like this you're stupid!" posts I see all over the place...though I have to agree, your overuse of apostrophes is a bit troubling. You should get that checked out :p

I, too, liked the original Star Wars trilogy. Sure, they weren't perfect...but yeah. Jedis. Honestly, if they'd left the midichlorians out of it, they would have been fairly good. Sure Hayden Christiansen was whiny, but I honestly felt like he was an angsty teenager, which is kind of what they were going for. I kind of felt his "I HATE YOU!" line at the end of the third one. The thing about George Lucas, though, is that he writes very good, epic MACRO plots. When you start looking at the micro, the smaller situations, the scenes, the dialogue, it starts to fall apart. And he can't write romance to save his life.

Also, I like 80's music damnit D:<

Agreed, I am on my like 6th time watching SEED/DESTINY, and for some reason they are the only anime (and so others) that I can keep watching while I am playing games or just watching it for fun, that never gets boring...

I thought the first three Star Wars movies were not just fine, they are excellent. I will never understand why everyone thinks they are shit.

Except for Jar Jar Binks, he could be erased from everyone's minds and I wouldn't care. He truly did serve NO purpose.

I'm sorry, but are we watching a different movie or something? Because the one I remember had a good ending that wrapped things up fairly well, good acting, an interesting concept that is shown well in the movie and an antagonist that was quite different from the ones we have become used to.

OT: I actually enjoyed Metallica's St anger album over the others as a whole. Some of the other albums had better songs but I just found st anger had the most songs I liked on average.

I think Neon Genesis Evangelion is quantitatively one of the best series out there. Yes, that includes the mind-screw endings and re-imaginings. Rebuild is supposed to be the last one, and is going the direction the creator wanted this time.

I like K-ON! It is no worse than Lucky Star in its idea, that idea being, "Let's have a show about four/five cute teenage girls in high school." So it is a moe-blob show. Sometimes I am in the mood for that.

I like country music. It brought so much to the table and does not deserve half the flak it gets.

I can think of more given time. I may be back later.

EDIT: I also like Halo. It was fun. Halo: CE is one of the better games I have played through the years and its expanded games universe (outside Halo Wars) are at least enjoyable (ODST was a nice take on not being made of cement and Halo 2 was okay) and at most approaching Halo: CE in quality (Halo: Reach).

Weird. I know Destiny caught some flak, but around here, G/Wing/00 is considerably more hated.

Mind you, G Gundam can be hilarious.

OH DANGER! OOOOOHHHH DANGER!

No. The perpetually spinning spinning top was an entirely unnecessary and ridiculous addition to the end, and as far as I'm concerned, it was just there to try and get the whole "OH MY GOD THIS HAPPENED!" factor where everyone argues about it.

Shrug. I thought it was a bland movie, and DiCaprio has never been a good actor in my opinion, and I highly doubt he will ever change my mind.

I like Final Fantasy 12, but despise the others.

I thought Deus Ex Invisible war was actually pretty good.

I thought thief 3 was better then thief 2 (but not 1).

AVP (game: 2009) was better then AvP 2.

I liked AvP 2... maybe more then I should have. (films)

Cars was actually a fun film.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is awesome... and raiden is an interesting character.

I think I'll leave it at that for now.

Other than my (i admit) over-use of the term "gorram", i didn't realize i was. I just like th'freedom of th'word to allow me to curse without gettin' th'dirty looks i tend to get from the over-religious folks i tend to run with (my family in particular)...

Yes, i know i over-do the whole apostrophes thing. But th'fact is:

1) I started doin' it when i was writin' in a lot of blogs because that's actually how i sound when i talk. It was mostly just somethin' i did to make the written text "sound" more like me, and i just can't seem to break th'habit now. (and yes, i get called on it A LOT NOW) with people that still read m'blogs actually askin' me to stop, but i think doin' so would defeat the entire purpose of why i did it in th'first place.

2) As you can see by this response, it's really not difficult for me to do, and i mostly do it now without even thinking.

3) Does people's opinion of the things i like/dislike effect what i am in fact going to like/dislike; no. But does a person's opinion matter, yes? I mean let's face it, if what another person thinks of your opinion doesn't matter, than chances are you won't write in a forum to begin with. The whole point of them is to voice your opinion and see how it stacks up to the opinions of others...hence what i'm doing. I beleive i said at least twice in my OP that i wasn't tryin' to step on any toes, this was just my opinion....there y'go...
