YOLO never made much sense to me; in video games you (usually) don't 'only live once', you can respawn within seconds of death. Real life applications don't make much sense either; wouldn't 'only living once' be a reason to avoid doing stupid life-threatening stuff?

Leeroy Jenkins is a godly war cry to be roared in moments of solitary heroism.

YOLO is a trashy, disposable piece of nothing that will be remembered along side SWAG and Adolf Hitler as some of the worst things mankind has ever produced.
So, if we are to speak in hypotheticals, if I was to jam my fist into a raging bull's arsehole, would it be funnier if I yelled "Leeroy Jenkins" or "YOLO" just before the moment of insertion?

Sorry if this is random or awkward in any way, but I just got home from work, I'm tired as all hell and I have a very vivid imagination when I'm in this state.

In this case it would be YOLO, given that nothing heroic would come out of it.

I've always hated the phrase "YOLO", ever since I heard my idiotic brother yelling it out. Just seems like a dumb man's version of carpe diem.

Ask yourself, what would strike you as more badass, yelling "Carpe Diem!!" as you charge headlong into your enemies, or "YOLO!!"
You do run the risk of people wondering why you're talking about fish.

From my observations of human behavior combined with my own personal beliefs and superstitions, YOLO is a once-lost curse that brings about personal self destruction shortly after uttering the phrase resulting from moderate injury to (catastrophic and generally unpleasant but still sometimes awesome to watch) death. This is why I NEVER say it. I'z a smart persunage. :3

"Injustice: Gods Among Us" in-joke aside... maybe I just don't "get out" enough, but the only time I ever year the term "Yolo" used ever is specifically in the context of complaining about or making fun of the term. Just saying, I have yet to ever see the term played straight.
Same here. I've never encountered anyone in real life who has actually used it seriously. I would probably have to start hating whoever it was on principle.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the phrase at this point in time.

I really do hate when a somewhat meaningful phrase is tossed out to the brain dead masses and gets mangled into their own small minded, misinterpretation. It's like saying something offensive to someone and following it with "no offense," or intentionally striking someone and quickly offering a less than solemn apology.

I am forced to admit there is no such thing as karma in the world. If there was karma, anyone who says yolo would get hit in the face with a brick.
Taking a brick to the face, I mean, yolo, right?

I'd say Ray has helped propagate people using it ironically somewhat.

I know I like saying it because my mates genuinely hate it.

Me and a friend of mine have gotten into the nasty habit of yelling, "YOLOOOO!" when we're doing something reckless in a multiplayer game.
On a BF3 server I play on, the most common thing to hear over the TS is someone singing the trololol song, followed by another, then another until there's a whole trolol choir going and pubbers/random start getting really, really confused.

If a player kicks off an epic lone charge then it's always and shall forever more be LEEEEEEERRRRROOOOOYYYY!!!
Jenkins only gets involved if the rest of the team joins said charge...

TO me, "Leroy Jenkins" had some charm, but it's really dated nowdays. Yolo...eh? What?

Also, annoyed that "Swag" is a thing. It was a perfectly good word, used to mean something much like a sleeping bag that you'd carry on your back if you were wandering round the great outdoors. You know, swagman and all. But no, had to go make it mean...not quite sure what, but something that seems very disreputable.

...

Since when has there been a "u" in "Waaagh!" ? It used to be Waa, I've seen it spelt "Waaargh", but never "Waugh".

Well, yelling CHEESECAKE would be better than saying YOLO, but I feel Jenkins is for heroism. Unless that bull's sphincter destroyed your village or killed your father, that isn't especially heroic.

The alternative, non-heroic use that I've found appropriate when a person is charging in some way. So maybe when you jump into the pen and run toward the raging bull, a Jenkins would make sense.

I blame Ray(glorious, glorious Ray) from Achievement Hunter. But hey, worrying about what other people say probably isn't worth it. There's so many other great things we can do with our lives. I mean, Yolo, right?

I'm not a huge fan of "YOLO", much thanks to the people that tend to use it in my area... I guess I just want to distance myself from them. Some of my friends say it now and then, and I don't really mind, but I don't say it myself. I have noticed there is a lot of "home-grown slang" going on in my immediate circle of friends. We have the word "zimf", which has been completely integrated into our speech and means "complaining a lot about". It basically started when a friend of mine misspelled omfg so badly that it became zimf, and it has stuck.

Another word that is equally integrated into the way we talk is "pumæng", which simply means cat. The origins of that one makes very little sense, so little that there is no point actually explaining it...

"Blurgh" was a greeting that originated with a friend of mine, but it died out qickly, and "nepe" is a word to mean "idiot" which was used a lot in my highschool.

I guess I got a bit off-topic D=.

Why do so many people have issues with people who like owls? I don't understand.

There's even a nice shirt [http://www.topatoco.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TO&Product_Code=QC-YOLO&Category_Code=QC] for them and all...

Leeeroy Jenkins: A parody of WoW guild number crunching and raid tactics gone too extreme being ruined by one dude and something about chicken. Hilarious and viral.
YOLO: Retarded douchebag mating call, also known as a potential Darwin Award. Nowhere near as cool.
