Well out of the Suikoden games I've played, the normal elemental ones all seemed to be the easiest to control or had the best/worst side effects if you know what I mean by that. I also just liked fire the best, but Lightning would have been second, I like fire's AoE spells and it's killer single target spells (can't remember exactly since I haven't played it in a year or so, so I guess i'll have to replay it :) )

And if I remember correctly I always thought Yuber was just a sadistic and crazy psychopath who joined whose ever side was going to kill more people, I didn't think that his true rune was to blame (but I also don't remember them really ever talking about him in the games, since he was all "mysterious")

And yes the Soul Eater Rune, while awesome. Kills everyone you care about to further its powers, as well as the Bright Shield and Black Sword Rune usually end up in a pair of close friends hands so you would have to fight your best friend in a war (although I remember at the end of 2 that everything was just peachy if you got the perfect good ending)

I think I could handle the true fire rune AFTER I got it, but don't forget that I have to find the rune, then probably fight myself a dragon :(
I seem to remember that in the Luc story in Suikoden 3, Yuber referred to the others as "humans". This implied to me that he was not quite human himself. Also, a huge sub-plot of the games is that the True Runes each have their own desires and can/will alter their bearers fate. For example, the aspects of the Rune of Beginning, the Bright Shield and Black Sword Runes, desire to fight each other as only in conflict can things truly begin. From what I recall, each True Rune has its own desires and if the bearer is weak or unworthy, the Rune will kill, corrupt, or even control them. And I believe that Yuber is controlled by his True Rune. I swear they said as much in Suikoden 3, but it's been a few years since I played it,too. Though, you're probably right that the elemental ones would be the easiest to control.

Sadly, the last one I played to the end was Suikoden 3. I tried to play Suikoden 4, but I hated how all the characters "War" stats were directly related to their combat stats which meant they were worthless in war battles unless they were up to date in level and gear. It was bad enough in 3, but seriously it put me off of 4. There was way too much grind. Which is sad, because the overarching story is one of the best out there. And I hated the True Rune, the Rune of Punishment. It seemed like a poor man's Soul Eater Rune to me (pretty similar spells, but they all did damage to the user, too).

Anyway, of the elemental True Runes, I would personally like the True Wind Rune the best. All the Spells do insane damage mostly to All enemies, but the lvl 2 is single target, and the lvl 3 attacks all enemies and heals all allies. How much better can you get than that?
Yes, Yuber did refer to the other as "humans" so he very well could be possessed by his own rune (although it would seem pesmerga (sp?) wasn't exaactly human either it seemed or maybe that was just me) But I don't think they explicitly state that he is controlled though, although there are probably hints about it in the game.

As for Anything after Suikoden 3 I didn't enjoy it nearly as much (that being Suikoden 4 or 5) they just didn't have the same feel for me as the first 3 did. Not that they were bad games, they just seemed to be dull compared to the others (I at least beat 4, didn't even bother with 5) also I want to know more about Leknaat and what her role actually is in the series.

Also yes, the rune of punishment was essentially the poor mans soul eater, which you could get later by recruiting ted whose on a ghost ship since he doesn't want to hurt anyone else, and the True Wind Rune does sound pretty good (I've always loved Earth and Fire when it comes to elements but Wind is usually high ranking, usually coming in 3rd depending on what elements there all are)

There are a lot of good choices...

I'd probably take the "Heart of Gold" item from League of Legends. Regenerates your health (so I assume you would live forever) and gives you free gold every few seconds as long as you are holding it. I'm sure that would work out to a decent amount of money after a few minutes.

Barring that I'd probably take the machine that brings people back to life in Mass Effect 2 plus manuals for its operation.

A Warhammer 40k Space Marine power armor suit, made just for me. Show up to the Pentagon in it, ask how badly they want to purchase a piece of tech from the year 39995. Or the nanosuit. The nanosuit might get me shot less.

Neku's player pin from The World Ends With You would be exciting. I could read minds and have the power of telekinesis. That would be awesome.

Ha! Nice choices.

However it only regenerates health, so if you were killed by something instant like an explosion or something you'd be dead...

However something like a bad wound or I assume even things like a broken neck would heal...

Interesting...

I'm going to revise mine into a set of two Decks of Many Things.

I would keep one for myself and leave the other lying on a coffee-shop table.

For those not in the know, it's a D&D card deck that, when drawn from, generates a variety of effects dependent on the cards drawn. These effects range from absolutely helpful and benevolent, to overwhelmingly self-destructive. An example of the latter is a physical manifestation of death appearing to kill you.

people have weird weird items on their list

I'd pick
a macicka spell book for teleport
a nano-suit 1.0
( the drain time on the 2.0 is far too fast for my liking way too much hardware on-board )
or
a light-sabre
or an ancient shield generator
( one with a charge port >.> )

that thing absorbs the damage of grenades, bullets, rpg's, gravity, heck.. i think it pretty-much makes you indestructible up-to it's power limit
all it needs is a tiny reactor.. say.. a stark reactor

iron-man suit with ancient shield technology upgrade anyone? :p

i probably just made a nerd somewhere wet themselves hehe

anyhoo, who mentioned the pentagon? did you mean the show? that's a alien city they're in

If I can't have people I guess I'll go with the obvious portal gun, or maybe a Titan from Eve.

saaaaayy what?
you'd have to have pretty big arms to accept a box containing an eve titan!
or you mean a model?

#edit#

ok, actually he never said it was being handed to you so i guess, but seriously that's like a box the size of the moon...
