You are now famous. What did you do and how do you deal with it?

Basically the title. To be more specific:

How famous are you?
I imagine some here are already famous or well known locally, but now you can imagine being as famous as you want. Either you're Lady Gaga or the city's best something. This is closely tied to the next question:

What are you famous for?
Writing? Acting? Art? Design? Politics? Anything goes.
(Although let's stay away from being a serial killer or the like. We all know someone's going to say it, anyway.)

How are you dealing with your newfound fame?
Do you stay away from public places, go on living as you do now or are you AALL UP IN THIS MEDIA B*TCH?

Did you even want to become famous?
Simple. As I said, you are famous now, whether you like it or now. Cant be helped. Did you write a book that became way too popular for your own taste? Go crazy. Not literally, though. (or if you want too, well..)

Personal answer:
I am not really one for fame and fortune, and to splendidly not follow the guidelines i gave you, Im not sure what I would be famous for. But since I now magically am, I am famous among a certain, specific group of people, like gamers, bass players or the like. Since I might be famous around the world but only to people with a certain interest, I wouldnt have to stop living like I am now. Still, I am happy remaining a normal person. I couldnt deal with too much fame, that's for sure.

On topic, I think what Mr. Gervais says about being famous is very interesting considering he is known all around the world now.

Very Very Rich, but very little fame. I honestly never want to be famous, but I would love to be rich so I can influence stuff from behind the scenes. Money=Power.

I am bombastically famous at least an big part of western society will know about me.
I am famous for either writing, comedy, politics, may be music or an combination of the previous named reasons.
I would handle my new found fame wisely, for the most part I will just continue living on in a normal way though I would use the media to express my own opinion about certain subjects that are for me important and try to change things if that's within my power. I would also use the media to mock other humans but I would by all costs avoid celebmedia stations because I have an deep hatred for those idiotic papers, tv programs and internet sites who are all over the stuff that famous people do(think of media that likes to share with the world that Angelina Jolie had an boobjob and such things). If it was in my power I would just simply ban such idiocy.
May be it was not my intent to be come famous with what I did but I know that it is something I would like a lot.

I am knighted for stepping in front of Prince Charles and taking a bullet to the shoulder for him which I am able to recover from due to my youth but would have been fatal had it hit the intended target. I am granted a title and become great friends with him. We discuss organic farming, motor sport, yachting and literature.

:) I am also given a coat of arms.

I use this new found fame to get myself a place in the most prestigious medical school in Australia and once I've graduated my partner and I move to the UK where I take over from Professor Sir Peter Rubin as the Chair of the General Medical Council.

I use the vast wealth and connection to the royal family to have my children educated at Eaton because it's fucking Eaton and retire from my post to a cottage in the south. Maybe near where my father was born.

It's all mapped out.

I thought the phrase was "get crunk"

Urban Dictionary disagrees.

I took over the world with an army of robots.

I started a company that builds and sells robots ranging from household purposes, to industrial purposes, to military purposes and became the richest, most powerful guy in the world.

Pretty much like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs got rich with their products, except I've got an army of robots that has infiltrated all the civilian households, industries and militaries around the world and even more in my own bases, all ready to take over the world for me at the push of a button.

I have no idea what I'd get famous for. It would probably be akin to Paris Hilton, as much as I hate her...I got famous because someone saw me do something stupid and the media never left it alone.

I don't really want to be famous. But I enjoy the idea of making enough money that I could live comfortably for the rest of my life without having to slowly kill myself working too much overtime and worrying about making ends meet.

While I suck at drawing but I would like to be famous for my comic book creations (I got tons of ideas), even then being a famous comic book artist is minor compare to major celebrity actors (in terms in being the spotlight well except comicbook community) unless I achieve Stan Lee level which is unlikely.
Even then I would steer myself clear from things I won't nomally do like drinking beers or anything the media would accuse me of.
I would probably live in private continuing my work but also set up a enterprise of some sort so I would have a income when I'm not drawing stuff on a weekly basis.

I'd probably become famous due to a large scale serial killing spree.
I'd have already lost sanity by the time such a thing would have taken place and so the killings would continue until I was killed..... or someone returned my hat.

Famous for a genre film and novel writing most likely. Most people wouldn't know me, but I would have a big reader base of actual readers or film critics will be jerking me off WITH OUT having to get payed extra for it(Not including Movie Bob, he's not lucky enough to be payed to do that(That was a Joke(I didn't mean it in a way where he would accept it at all(There are a lot of parentheses in parentheses here(We need to go deeper(I should stop now))))))). That, is, in this hypothetical situation, I don't suck balls at creating media.

If I became famous, I would go about my life as normal, ITT post on 4chan and The Escapist, play the same video games with the same set of friends, listen to the same music, still read MS Paint Adventures and Balls 2 That, still use my Gameboy and crappy MP3 player for outdoor media (Would definitely get better headphones, however), still read Watchmen over and over, and still live in the ghetto at some dinky apartment.

This not because I like living in a ghetto at a dinky apartment(I do like the other stuff in my life) but because if I every did anything outside of live my life as normal, I would likely turn into a upper-middle class asshole that just isn't me (just the cliched kind, not the cool kind that go to this site or I friend on Xbox) and I wouldn't ever want to be.

Also, living somewhere where no one would of heard of my work helps too. :D

Not very ambitious, I see... and it's Eton by the way.

Anyway, what's with the foreign obsession with Eton?! Harrow is by far more stuck up, Winchester is older and Westminster has more academic prestige. If I had the money, I'd want my kids to go to St Paul's. *shrug*

OT: As a ghost writer...
I deal with it fine because no-one knows who I am, what I look like or what I've done. *hrk*

Probably author of some sort who wrote something that does not require much talent, but a good bit more insight. Or for publicly criticising a politician with such style that I was put in the front two pages of a Country-wide Newspaper...

I would not like the fame, I would want it to be small fame, big money (author idea there...). If I started getting very annoyed (which I would) I would probably go live somewhere far off and obscure with my wife and live a peaceful and wealthy life...
