I would create a modular utopia unique to all life within it where there is always love and compassion and wonderment. Then I'd tell everyone, all eleventy bajillion of them, they couldn't stay unless they registered at the one window DMV.

I would be a gracious God. From the nothing would come stars and planets, space and time. From the earth I would craft people, and though they would be few they would not know death. There would be none among them who I do name, and all among them would know me. Amen.

So yeah. For whatever reason, you have been plonked into a newly-born Universe, it's contents consisting of you and fuck-all else. Thing is, you now have the ability to create matter out of nothing and you can use it any way you want; the one thing you are unable to do is go back to your old Universe. Everything else is fair game. So what do you do?
I would sob and cry that my crazy ass god murdering girlfriend frim earth one is stuck in earth three and now I'm stuck in earth two with a bored ro hell world 1 monkey girl demon.
I hate you Mirrai Nikki.

Anyway... I'll go for fantasies. Really, this is all stuff I can't name.
Alas, I beat you to the punch. [sub]Also watch past the end credits[/sub]

Actually, better idea; instead of not writing my sci-fi novel, I'll just make them all real!

Initiate Big Bang Protocal for long term development. Create a small pocket beyond where the big bang is for Short Term development. Inside that pocket experiment with what I can create, how complex I can make it, and how I can influence everything. Eventually create what is basically heaven, and let my creations live in certain sections of it so long as they do so in peace. They try to kill each other, the aggressor is erased from existence.

By the time this has all been done, enough time will hopefully have passed that the big bang will have expanded out into the starts of a universe similar to ours. Of course it won't be anywhere near as developed, however I would take a look around and study what is going on in that early universe before spending some time in heaven with my creations, and doing more experimenting.

By the time galaxies start to form, I should have all the knowledge and experience I need to craft a world exactly as I want it to be. I would create a world, tell a story on through it [Influence what goes on on the planet to tell the story], and once the story is complete, leave its inhabitants to continue on as they will, and tell another story through another world. Eventually, once I become bored of this, I will dedicate the rest of my time to figuring out how to force myself out of existence, and then doing so - leaving my universe to continue on its own for the rest of eternity.

I will create two world, one filled with beautiful angelic immortal hyper-intelligent beings who live in a paradise, and the other with many colorful different mindless beasts of varying difficulty for them to slay. The world will be two infinite plains parallel to each other.

There will be no boredom in my world, boredom is the enemy of immortality. I will make it impossible for my people to get used to entertainment, so everything they watch, play, read, etc will feel like the first time every time. I assume that as a god i am now immune to boredom.

Then i would create a race of human-like creatures on a massive solar system in the middle of the 2 planes to create said art, because i wouldn't expect the angelic beings to be very good at art because they're in paradise all the time and have no inspiration.

And then i would sit back and enjoy immortality.

First, I'd create an apple pie from scratch.

Then, I'd do the Haruhi thing: create the universe, the same in most ways to our current one, forget about it and will supernatural beings into existence.

Or maybe I'd create and move to Gensokyo. I'd fit right in there, let me tell you!

Probably start of boring and make a human base of operations and start making a cool world similar to what I already know. It would probably take me years before I thought of anything actually interesting.
If I have sentient beings then I would turn into one of them and do cool things.
Also everyone can connect to the internet with their minds.

I would make the world just as it is now...but then one day I would turn every person who's name isn't Jeff into zombies. Just to screw with all the Jeffs in the world.

Step 1: Create another human, preferrably female, with similar immortality for purposes of companionship.

Step 2: Create two non-human companions for myself. One in the form of a ghostly, most likely serpentine dragon, the other in the form of a cute, vaguely spherical frog [http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m800beQG5I1qg9pym.png].

Step 3: Create a few more immortal humans based on friends of mine to help me out with this whole omnipotence thing and keep me company.

Step 4: Create a few mini-worlds/galaxies/universes/whatever, some to get the hang of this, others based on things I like as sort of a way to keep myself and my companions entertained.

Step 5: I'd design a few worlds with intelligent life, and the laws that the universe follows. I guess I'll go with the idea of a couple of species on a planet, with a few species whose planets are near each other.

Step 6: I'd help the intelligent life forms until they reach a point where I'm confident that they can survive on their own. I'd encourage morality based around thinking out decisions logically, and on the consequences of their actions. The only rules I would provide them would be standards of cleanliness, and rule number one will state that once a rule no longer serves a practical purpose in ensuring the continued survival of the species, you can throw the rule away. The only moral rules will be 1) War in the name of myself or my companions are forbidden. Even if Brian says it's okay, don't do it. 2) Freedom is the right of all sentient beings. Basically, two simple moral rules, an encouragement to think decisions out rationally, and a standard of cleanliness similar to the Kosher laws, but with the instruction that, as soon as you reach the point where you can safely disobey a rule, you are free to ditch the rule.

Step 7: Create an afterlife. I'd go with the idea of a choice of afterlives based on what you want it to be life, with the only thing determining your position is whether or not you managed to live up to some basic moral and ethical standards (Whether you actually considered consequences or just said "ah, who cares"), and whether you followed the two roles. If you were a total douchebag, you'd be reincarnated, and have to try it again. Each time you die, you are told of your previous lives. If you broke one of the only two moral rules, are given one more chance. If you fail that, you cease to exist.

So, yeah, a bit of my own ideas and a bit of the ideas of others. Your thoughts?

I would first lay down the basic functions of the universe at which point I would allow the simulation to play out. Tweak it repeatedly until I have something that would be capable of self sustaining and then make subtle tweaks over the ages to ensure that some form of evolving intelligence(s) would form and then let it grow.

Well I wouldn't go back to the old universe. I would just create a new "Old universe" if you will. Then Rule it.

No imagination for the win!
