You are the last person on Earth. What is your daily routine after the initial shock wears off?

Let's just say all the people in the world just vanish into thin air. Depending on the kind of person you are, you'll probably either freak out (and maybe off yourself), or have a crazy awesome time.

Either way, after some time the surprise will wear off. There's not much you haven't done, so you fall into a sort of routine.

Question is, now that there's nobody around to give you shit, what do you do every day? If you don't think you would eventually follow a routine, what do you do instead?

I don't have a set routine now, I can't imagine having a routine then. I'd probably just start reading. With no electricity, there wouldn't be anything else really that's worth doing. I'm not a very...active person. I doubt I'd do like many other people and run around doing crazy shit, or doing things I've always wanted to do. I'd sit there, read, eat when I get hungry, masturbate a few times, read some more, sleep when I'm tired, and that's about it.

I suppose I'd have some kind of farming and maybe hunting routine, considering I gotta eat something? Unless you stumble across a Twinke factory any real food reserves spoil pretty quickly. Probably boring but I'm tired.

I guess I would wake up, grab a brush and put on a little makeup, hide the scars to fade away the shakeup, leave the keys on the table, and go and create another fable.

I begin training, grab knifes, guns, weapons of all kind...and I go and hunt for whatever erased the entirety of the world. Then I go and burn down every last WBC, Fox News writer and Glenn Beck-like persons home I know.

The World ends with me and the Revolution begins with me.

Or just....get mad because internet doesn't work any more and no one can see how awesome I am :(

Hm. Probably, as most have said, start farming/hunting (well first I'd have to go find a bow and hope I'm still the crack shot I was at 12 when I took lessons) and move south cause fuck Manitoban winters. And then when I got my survival routine down I would probably end up reading as everyone else says.

I'm totally fine being alone, I'd just adopt all the stay kitties and no one would be around to call me that crazy cat lady.

I'd probably just start traveling, far as I can.

Step 1: Find car
Step 2: Take car
Step 3: Find food
Step 4: Drive until car runs out of gas (periodic stops to wank)
Step 5: Eat food
Step 6: Break into someone's house and sleep
Step 7: Repeat steps one through six

Day 1: The scavenge. I will be going to all the grocery stores, and grabbing loads of food. I will also have all 7 of my computers downloading games on mine and the neighborhood's internet. I will probably have about 2 days before the internet starts going down. It'll be a slow progress too, with various points disappearing, and me constantly having to reroute. Meat will be heavily in my diet today. The power will stay on for a week. Time to go to sears and snag a few mini freezers let them run for a bit while the power is still on, stock them absolutely full of meat, and load them up in the back of a u-haul. I will also be hooking a generator up in the truck to keep them on at least partially. With the freezers sealed completely they should stay cold enough for the next part.

Day 7: The migration. I'm moving to Houston [http://www.houstonherald.com/news/houston-gets-its-first-fully-solar-powered-home/article_a6388be0-0be4-11e1-b71d-001cc4c03286.html] I will be spending the next few weeks in the library. I will learn how to farm, and I will be slowly becoming a vegetarian. I will have 2 years to learn how to farm perfectly before the food from canned goods start to wear out, and Texas is pretty able farmland. I will also be pilfering a lot of tools, and learn how to maintain my solar panels, and household appliances.

Day X: The routine begins. I have learned how to farm. My house is maintained. I have POWER. Time to go pilfer as many video games as I can find. Game stores, all over the place, and finding them is as easy as finding the local yellow-pages. Truckloads of games for every occasion. I won't lie, I'll probably be looking for some porn mags as well. Now with a sustained livelihood, and tons of video games, I settle down and enjoy the rest of my life... until..

Day XX: I get so lonely I take some desperate measures. I learn more, I reactive some radio towers. I send out a broadcast. I can't be the only one. Anybody?

I wait. I play video games and read until I die. I write two books. A book containing brief notes on the history of mankind, and locations on where to find more detailed information. I also write a new dictionary. With pictures instead of all nouns, and disc accompanying it, to teach an alien race how to speak English. With human history preserved, and myself sustained until I die, I wait.

Oh. And I'll probably find a pet. That's probably a good idea now that I think about it.

From the moment it becomes clear no one is coming back....

Hop on the internet, find and print out as much important information as I can before the power/net goes down. I need to know shit like where the nuclear plants were. Hospitals. Also any other basic survival information.

From that point forward? I start gathering supplies and set up a homebase. With no responsibilities, I'm going to start journeying across the U.S. exploring all the places I've never been allowed to go. The Television studios in New York and what not, maybe I'll head down south to disney land and check out it's underground city, I def would want to visit government buildings. The white house. Area 51, all the like. Cause why not? And as I journeyed across the country I'd set up homebases as I go. Stock them with non-persihible food and weapons, so no matter where I travel I have a home near by.

But basically, yeah, pulling information from the internet before it dies would be the biggest concern I have the start. It's an incredibly valuable resource.

An entire playground of a completely empty world, you don't want to go exploring?

There isn't anyone to stop you from doing anything now.

Yep, that right there.
I don't know. I know this is always true for everybody to different degrees, where we can imagine what we would do but it's actually totally different when faced with the actual situation, but I'm having trouble even getting to step 1. I seriously do not know what I would do but Hipsters' suggestion makes the most sense to me.

You are right, I probably would at some point. But, there's a whole slew of mental issues that comes with myself and traveling. A lot of it honestly would be the issue of having a wonderful view and no one to share it with. It's a simple premise that that is something that I want to do with my life, but it relies upon OTHER changes being made to my life. I always picture the future playing out in a certain order, and without certain steps having been attained in order, the truth of the reality is that it would be an even more emotional and hollow experience than I would be ready for, and would in fact lead to suicide after too long.

My routine there allows me to maintain my current status quo. I'm used to being alone now. I'm used to experiencing the joys of video games alone, and I can maintain my area pretty well. As much as I would like to travel, and see, and play, I just don't think I can withstand doing that alone.

That's just kinda the sad reality of it.

Initially I'd go and raid all of the shops and buildings for supplies, set up a base in a super cool house and begin life anew. If I had to have a daily routine it would probably consist of:

1: Sleep in for as long as possible
2: Wake up, stay in bed pretending to sleep
3: Eat (in bed)
4: Wash
5: Roam around, look for some cool stuff
6: Realise I've found everything cool. Go back to home.
7: Try and find a Mann Vs Machine match
8: Realise my cardboard box with a computer screen drawn on has no internet connection
9: Cry
10: Make a girlfriend
11: Fix broken girlfriend
12: Sleep

I'd kill myself on the first day. As much time I would have to do all the things I want to do I'd lack the resources to do it. I'd doubt I'd be able to gather food easily, I'm no hunter, I don't have a weapon and we are legally obligated to keep any weapons inside a locked gun closet separate from ammunition or keep essential parts away from the rest so it can't be used. Even with a functional gun I doubt I would be able to kill anything. Then there's preparing it if I by some miracle got any meat.

I think I could survive the shock, but I'd be dead within the week.
