You can give one TV show an unlimited budget. What is it?

Pretty much self-explanatory. If you could give one currently running TV show a completely unlimited budget, what would it be?

My pick would be Legend of Korra. I was thinking of Game of Thrones at first, but since they've done well enough so far and a larger budget wouldn't really do much to improve the core appeal of GoT (the dialogue, the characters and the acting), I picked Korra instead. The latest season showed how good their animation can be, now I wish they just had more episodes. 20 episodes a season like The Last Airbender would probably be perfect, since there's so much to be explored.

So what are your picks?

Dr Who, then they can invest in some better CGI. It's not bad by any means but it could be a lot better with more resources, and I can't think of much else I watch that would benefit for having more money.

Does a webseries count? If so then I would give the cash to RWBY as that would address one of the problems with the shows (no matter how much cash you got, it doesn't solve all of the problems within it).

If not then I give it to Game of Thrones. Imagine if we had that assault on King Landing episode with BOTH the wildfire scene and large scale invasion to boot!

I don't know, I think Game of Thrones would be absolutely incredible with an unlimited budget- Think of the battles!

Probably Noel Fielding's Luxury comedy, just to see what the hell he'd do with it.
Madness, total madness.

What's with the Game of Thones? They've already got a bundget on par with a blockbuster in terms of dollars per second. Literally the last show on telivision which could use more money.

I'd give it to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. so that each week we've got a mini Marvel movie on the screen.

Alternitivly I'd give it to a hypothetica new Star Trek or Stargate series, because the world of telivision needs them to come back.

After all that, I'd think The Walking Dead. They'd sure put it to good use if they used it on halfway decent writers alone.

Yeah but GoT may run into the issue that many other HBO epics run into. Right now they're sitting pretty but they have such a large amount of money invested in the show that any real loss of viewership could easily sink the ship. The show is so large that it could just crush itself under its own weight.

OT: Currently running eh...

My problem is that besides Thrones, there's not much I watch that's running (that would make use of a huge budget; I can't imagine more money would be a big deal to "The League" or "Bob's Burgers"...) but I don't want to say Thrones like so many others...

Eh...F it. Game of Thrones wins by default. Congratulations!

I'd want a reboot the Justice League cartoon. Or just a medley of DC comic stuff. Don't get me wrong, I loved Spiderman and X-men, but Justice League came into my head first. The stakes just feel a bit higher in their stories, I dunno.

Community.

Though that'd be only for a sixth, proper season and an epic movie.

I'd think though that the lower-budget production does give the series an endearing quality, so it might lessen the effect of the show. The finale of Season 5 was spectacular because they embraced the low budget and because it's constantly tongue-in-cheek.

In all honesty, none of them. The reason is that there seems to be a trend in the entertainment industry that works towards the idea that a lack of plot can be made up with by an increase in the special-effects budget. So for me it's less a matter of giving any project more money and more a matter of wanting them to prioritize how they spend that money.

While I would love to have seen some older science fiction series have better special effects budgets (and more time to produce a finished product), I fear that any such increase would draw away from, and cause a paucity in, the writing and acting areas.

Its not out yet but in production, I would have to go with the Ghost Brigades coming to syfy shortly. Its based off of my favorite military scifi book series and if they had the money it would surpass BSG in terms of quality. And if I cant pick that then Venture Brothers or Archer. Their animation got better with every season and with the money they could get bigger and better regular voice actors to play new characters.

Keep in mind however shows that end properly and have crews work around constraints sometimes are better than shows or that have unlimited budgets. Think of the original Star Wars Vs the prequels.

*reads through posts*

*sees RWBY and Agents of SHIELD have both already been posted*

Welp.

...if I had to pick one it would be Agents. At the very least, giving them improved spy tech and letting them bump up the quality of the villain of the week would be a big boost. Personally I don't really want the show to just be a series of cameos from "movie" characters, but if it works well with the plot, having the ability to get a character or two for said cameos once in a while wouldn't hurt.

(Honestly, I kind of like Doctor Who's iffy special effects. I like the effects not being the focus of the show, and if said effects have to be a bit weak in order to achieve that, so be it)

Nobody's mentioned Firefly yet!?
I would, but it doesn't need "unlimited" budget. I think it would be best produced on a fair budget.
I'll add my vote for Agents of Shield or Stargate (sg-1/sg-a)/Trek (voy/tng).

Trying to think of anything else...nnnope, "data not found". Curse my bad memory.

I'd go for a Star Trek series with a decent set budget. I don't have a problem with the ship models or the CGI, but I'd love to see more location sets instead of cheap soundstages. Kronos for the Klingons was fantastic, but Romulus looked like something from the 4th Century, rather than a high tech society.

Ya, I'm going to go with Game of Thrones as well. It's not my favourite show, but it out of the shows I enjoy, it would definitely make the best use out of an unlimited budget.

More dragons and bigger battles.

However much money it would take to get Spectacular Spider-Man or Transformers Animated back on the air, preferably both.

Probably gonna have to echo those saying Agents of Shield - if they had the budget for big effects every week then that would be nice since it's Marvel and it's half the reason I watch it. Most of the other shows I like are cop shows and huge budgets wouldn't do a whole lot of good there.

Firefly on a bigger budget would have been awesome too but I'm guessing I can't say that one since it's kinda been off the air for what feels like decades :(

Funny thing is: Kronos was made from one of the generic 'planet of the week' sets they used for about a hundread different planets, but they decorated it with a few interesting set pieces and changed up the lighting. You woudn't need a big budget to do that again, you'd just need someone with an idea of something interesting and a few clever tricks to make their idea work.

I'd say Firefly, but considering the actors are older now... I'm gonna go with either Thundercats (2011), Symbionic Titan, Megas XLR, or Green Lantern the Animated Series. All shows canceled before their time who deserved better than what they got.
