Rachmaninoff's Vespers, specifically: Nyne Otpushchayeshi. When those basses hit the LOW b-flat jeepers...amazing.

Plus the solos in that song are heart rending.

Failing that: De Profundis by Arvo Part. Goosebumps evertime. Plus the translation seems apt for someone about to die...

Oh, that's difficult. That's really difficult. Hm... either Festival of Asylum (Miku Hatsune), Meltdown (Rin Kagamine) or Last Night, Good Night (Miku). It would depend a lot on my mood at the time, methinks. I'll go with the last if I have to choose.

In reply to this, I give one that pretty much is completely with the topic (and a good song to boot):

The song itself is about a girl who's on her death bed and has made peace with that fact. It's quite sad (if you can get past the Engrish in the translations, that is).

Like Suicide - Soundgarden. Great lyrics, great riffs, best solo they have ever done and it's nice and long. I play this song every time I take a shower.

argh, too many choices, i think i would depend on how i die

Afterlife or Unbound(The Wild Ride) by Avenged Sevenfold
Dead Man Walking by Serenity
Moonlight Sonata
or Rule the World by Kamelot

and at my funeral (because damn laws won't allow me to have a Viking burial)
Seize the day by Avenged Sevenfold
or Buried Alive by Mercyful Fate if i wanted to screw with everyone

I have just composed my own song, I call it "Life". It's 2 minutes of singing followed by a 200 year pause where the singer just says or sings whatever he or she wants (including nothing) and 2 more minutes of singing. I will offer to perform the song myself if my persecutor can't get a copy.

See, you can get around any arbitrary rules about never-ending songs or anything else. Go ahead, make up another one and I'll beat that too.

Man, it'd be lame to pick the same song as you ><. I guess I have to go with Dancing For Rain. The live version from their concert in Munich 2009. The best version of one of their best songs ever.
You shold have heard paper wings and survive live in newcastle on wednesday. Never have either of those songs sounded so good
