the first ever "carry combo" to enter the fields of justice. Quinn and Valor utilize a unique mechanic where the two characters can "tag" in and out of combat at will, effectively being two champions for the price of one.
excpet for Jayce,Nid,Elise

To a lesser extent Swain,Heimerdinger,Vane, Leblanc

I know it's a marketing thing. But the concept of switching up ablilitys with Ultmite/skill has been done before
Yes and no, they are the first combo adc champ, that's true (no Jayce technically isn't an ADC). And yes they are really the first champs to be two distinct individuals who aren't on the screen at once and instead trade places. Unless I'm forgetting anyone I think Willup/Nunu are the only other duo in the game, and they are the only ones who are both around at the same time.
Nidalee and Elise are still themselves, they just shapeshift. Jayce just switches the form of his weapon.
Q&V abilities are basically different versions of each other, which contrasts greatly to the previously mentioned champs.
The only other champ that follows this methodology of same skill but varied is Shyvana.

Vayne? Uhh sort of missing the logic behind that one.
As for Swain, yea it's just him turning into a bird, but he still retains the same abilities. I would equate that more to a ultimate particle flavor than an actual "swap", more akin to like Nasus or Renekton getting bigger/color change/particle effects.
Leblanc's clone is a controllable minions, more akin to Tibbers, Shaco's clone, Mordekaizer's clone, etc. Not really a swap of abilities, or a variation on abilities when they are brought out.
And finally there are the non controllable minons such as Heimer and Zyra, they are pretty much a minion that's thrown on the ground and not controlable, neither a transformation of skills nor a new set of skills.
I was talkign about ablility changes based on a toggle not the clones/minions

Q&V is still one champion what partical effect is used to change the charter model is irrelevant(They share the same HP bar,Items, Cool downs). The concept of new set of abilities has been done before.

as for your objections:
Vane:Final Hour changes night hunter and tumble
Dingers upgrade changes all his outer abilities
LB ult changes depending on the skill last used

EDIT:Also Swain/Beatrice are together(admitly On Screen) and possibly switch places during the ult

I forgot about Shvana altogether but you can add her to the list

I'm just interested in how much say Apple had in the design of the new Blitzcrank skin. It's pretty good and hey people actually want to support lately to try their pro skin >.>

It is surprising how long it took them to port it to Mac though, I guess the hardware is difficult to program for/around

Oh and Quinn is borderline OP from what i've played, scho muchch damge! NOBODY ELSE IN THE GAME DOES THIS MUCH DAMAGE! Oh wait a sec

Nvm

Regardless her reverse teleport is awesome. Someone comes at you with a gapcloser and you jump back to a safe distance by backflipping off them. So hype.

Then there's Valor's 80% speed buff. Probably outruns even Best Pony EUW HECARIM which is ridiculous. I might run Ghost on her later to see how fast she is then. Also Teleport + Homeguard + Ghost = MAXIMAM SCHPEEDO!

Making a game cross-platform is news-worthy? Must be a slow day for news at The Escapist.
Making this game in particular cross-platform is newsworthy, because people have been crying out for it longer than I care to remember. I have at least three friends who only own Macs, whether due to their parent's hipster nature, or just because they prefer the ui. They are all excited to finally have a chance to play LoL on an official build.

Not strictly true, in terms of your 'micro' managing games such as DOTA and Diablo. LoL is markedly simpler in its operation than DOTA, and one of the biggest examples of this is the practice of 'denying' creeps. It is a large part of DOTA gameplay, or at least, it was in the original DOTA, though I cannot speak for DOTA 2, having never played it myself. Practice doesn't make perfect, but it does make one better. Experience is the driving force behind much change, so sometimes, it's best to let people learn.

Surely better than my first DOTA 2 bot game where everyone just quit. :/
Both games are hell at the start.

In DOTA 2 you'll have quitters while in LoL you'll have people spamming surrender 2 seconds after the first blood is spilled. It gets better later on though, or at least it does in DOTA. I dunno about League.

OT: Kinda surprising they didn't do this earlier. What was stopping them? There must be millions of potential players on Mac they could've pulled in earlier.
You can't surrender till 20 minutes, so you can't surrender after first blood.

Been playing it on and off for a good while now. The best thing is to find a friend that will help ease you into it. The nice thing is, there is such a large variety of characters, everyone should have one that fits their preferred playing style. For example, if you are like me, are slow, have the reflexes of a lobotimised slug, but like planning, play as Heimerdinger.
As for the community, it can get obnoxious, a fact that the games owners have actually faced up to.

Yeah, it was designed to being simpler from the ground up, among other things because it has:

- Standarized attack animations

- No RNG on autoattacks

- No turn animations

- Standarized cast animations

- More spammable abilities

- Abilities and autoattacks do more damage percentwise to creeps

- No deny (as you said)

Still, if he can't at least do 120 or so effective APM comfortably... well, he will suck and miss a lot of lasthits. Not that is the end of the world, he will be playing among noobs so it's fine.

Also, I don't know from where it comes this retarded notion that denying by last hitting your creeps is something you constantly do in DotA. There are only two roles that deny on a regular basis, the mid laner (2) and the carry (1), out of those the carry does it to mantain creep balance, not to deny really; and the deny range per game of top of the world players is around 10-20 for the mid player, 5-15 for carries, 0-5 for the rest of the roles. Considering a game usually lasts 40 mins or so in wich aprox 400 creeps will be spawned per lane... well, I really don't know where exclusively LoL players get this is a big deal in DotA, even for mid laners denying is the icing in the cake you do when theres nothing better.

Also, well, I am not great man, my effective apm while bieng in control is around 180 which is decent-noobish, don't have time to get better this days :(
