I'll use it until it's pretty much done, but I'm not going to painfully squeeze the last bits out.. I'm definitely not cheap though. I do tend to waste things but only after I've got what I want out of it. Others may see it as a waste but I don't.

It's simple effort to reward ratio, and when you're far too afraid of the outdoors that walking to buy a replacement is a massive undertaking in itself, it becomes clear why I will use everything until it is empty.

Also ketchup is not a luxury item. Ever. Especially as a student.

I use everything down to the point where there's absolutely no way to get anything else out. It's not cheap to get the most out of a product, just rational. I'm not going to throw away a quarter bottle of mustard because I have to bang it a few times to get more out. It's that kind of convenience-before-efficiency thinking that's built this ludicrous society of consumerism and overindulgence, and it's why so many useful objects and materials get thrown away. /socialist rant

cheap people annoy me you only live once why horde away all your spare cash it's stupid buy something and enjoy yourself.

Buying a new tube of toothpaste when i could used the one i have now doesnt stop me enjoying myself. I think you mistook the discussion for being about miserly people. This is about making the most out of what you buy.

Its not like when i empty out my shampoo it suddenly depresses me. I like to keep my money that i spent on shampoo because i can then spend it on a chocolate bar or a video game which do make me enjoy myself.

Lets be honest none of the against arguements hold any water what so ever. They cant be bothered to admit they are too laxy to hit the bottle a few times or squeeze the tube a little bit harder. The only arguements they have are:

Massive exaggerations "im not getting every atom".... niether am i? I just use it until it cannot be used anymore. When i cannot get enough shampoo out of the bottle to wash my hair with despite hitting it a bit, i then go and buy a new one or move onto the next one i got in advance.

The issue here is the reason i actually got the candy in the firstplace. I got the candy FOR the chocolate. That is the resource is spent the money on, i bearly register the wrapper as a usable resource because to me it isnt. I use teh chocolate by eating it. All resources i can use are now gone. I have used the candy bar and the whole process is now over.

Erm we do? Just not all on ketchup and mayo. Things that while mildy enjoyable are not as enjoyable as other things i could buy with the money saved?

Bottom line your lazy. It isnt a crime, i dont resent you for it, its a free country (woot) but thats the only reason you dont. It isnt worth the effort for you.

We, humanity, consume too much. So, let's do it in an rational form at least. Put water in the shampoo bottle when it's almost depleted to make sure you aren't wasting.

I assume you live with a parent and don't pay for your own things 'cos if you were like me you would be squeezing that tube of toothpaste and using the crumbs of the soap to wash your hands. When your on less than min. wage living by yourself, paying crazy amounts of tax, throwing out stuff when it starts to get low means your penny-less.

Also makes you a bit stupid, the last bit of toothpaste is just as good as the first bit. Think how many last bits of toothpaste you have thrown away, now add them all up and how many full tubes do you have?

Also a staple of student life XD As is taking all of the sugar packets from coffee shops
And if I buy something I am damn well going to use it all. Otherwise I feel like I have just wasted my money.

People who don't pay for the product / bills (i.e. sons and daughters living with parents) really have no right to complain.

I live with my parents and I pay the electrical bill and sometimes buy groceries.
But I use every single resorce until it's wasted completely since I really loath people that don't finish something and then throw it away.

But if I can help it, yeah, I'm usually cheap. I'm the type of guy who would stick my hand down a drain for 5c.

I tend to bin/toss away change like that, so I guess I'm wasteful.

I have like a draw full of Taco Bell sauces, McDonalds BBQ, ect.

I don't have to buy various sauces/ketchup then. I'm also embarrassed, but then I remember that I'm a poor college student and I do what I can. XD

depends. I buy peanut butter pretty regularly. So when one jar starts to get to the point where Id need a spatula, I open a new one. My cabinet is filled with almost empty jars, but with enough left to make it reasonable to one day use.

toothpaste is bought like once a month, and buying more means leaving the house, driving, parking, browsing, waiting in line, paying, leaving a parking lot, driving, parking, then opening the toothpaste. I will use every last bit of that mother fucker. That is too much effort to buy a new one.

EDIT: yes i realize that you have to do the same for peanut butter, but I buy it like twice a month with the groceries, Im already out of the house. Toothpaste just kinda gets foirgotten
