Originally, judgment day was in 1995.

After the events of T2, it got pushed back to April 21, 2011. Skynet went live on the 19th, but didn't fire the nukes until the 21st.

i fixed it. fucking computers had no internet security. they're all pretty... distracted now.

It's like they said in T3 Skynet is not one machine, but a distributed network of computers. Connecting up all the PS3s could provide enough power to take over the world. Why do you think PSN is free when Microsoft make so much money off Live? So more people connect to it and grant the system more power. Suddenly all those supercomputers the military made from PS3s make sense.
