Exactly! Imagine the shock and awe when out of nowhere they get ***** slapped. "Huh....the wind sure is fierce this time of the year."

Then the wind proceeds to kneecap them...that'll be a bit harder to rationalize.

I use facebook as a free version of texting...just not as mobile, unless I get an iPhone or blackberry of Windows phone.

This is pretty funny, I thought I was addicted then I realised I'm going on there to laugh at the people more addicted than myself :).

I will only ever do a status update if it's somewhat urgent or really damn funny.

Social Networking is a bit stupid. Especially when you start adding friends that you don't know in real life. Besides, if I had a pound coin for every time I have seen conversations entirely in CAPS, song lyrics and "I'm depressed" statuses on Facebook, I would have a least a couple of thousand in the bank! Also, being a older teen (17) I do use Facebook, but it is just so BORING. All you do is give away personal details and complain about everything, but I keep it simply so my 7 or 8 true friends can actually contact me. As soon as I start checking my phone often, I might as well get rid of it.

One sign of becoming old and uncool and no longer 'hip' is threads like this.

Just sayin'

To explain: 'Thing that is considered ubiquitous in teen culture is silly/pointless/I don't understand its ubiquity. Why is teen culture being so stupid?' is the same question people have been asking since Ogg and Grug turned to their son with disapproval as he said 'OOOOK! OOOOOOOOK! UGH OOOK!' which is kinda a protoform of 'you're not the boss of me!'

So I don't exist, good to know. Tonight I think I'll drop by some equally non-existent friends and have some non-existent fun.

Somehow I doubt most of the posters in this thread were ever "cool".

There's two groups here.

1. People who are too old and are therefore married to traditional methods of social networking.

2. People who simply aren't social and don't see a point.

Probably a guy that has a very limited friendsgroup (in the traditional sense mind you).

I like my anonymity when I'm online and I don't use any social networks where I could post something stupid and be held responsible for it some years later.

I've become very good at taking pictures of myself. I know what angle is best, I know how to part my lips...you know. It's like the number one thing on my mind is 'I need to get home right now and take a new profile picture.' All because I want someone to comment on how I look.

--Katie, 15 years old

Oh 'Katie'....do you mean parting your lips

I actually do see stupid shit like this all the time on fb "OMG I'm so ugly" then a good 20 or so friends will comment no your not its especially annoying when a attractive girl does it. Every single Week. Really I don't even see why I have a fb anymore I hardly ever comment and won't post that much cause I like to keep stuff to my self. Only time I ever use it is to message ppl. So I actually believe this.
