So, I was just thinking about how awesome cheat's used to be, y'know how you could get flying cars or boat-cars or have everyone wanting to kill you or something, and when I think about it, not too many games have these awesome cheats anymore, and I couldn't find any other threads about this. I mean there have been some in games like Saint's Row 2 and stuff, but most of them seem to be more about helping you then making things funner. I was especially disappointed when Red Dead Redemption didn't have any of those "fun" cheats.

So, long story short, what's your favourite cheat code/codes, what game is it from, and what did it do? For me it'd probably have to be the flying cars cheat in San Andreas, cos I had some hilarious times with that. If not that, the super speed and super hammer in Red Faction: Guerilla. Those made me feel like Thor.

I could've sworn a saw the same thread yesterday.....am I living the same day over again? NOOOOOO! It can't be possible! I'm stuck in an endless time loop!

Super On Topic: Debug mode in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. You're playing as Sonic, running through a level when suddenly-

Even though its ages ago I can still remember the Idkfa and iddqd codes from Doom, I guess that just sticks with you - running around in god mode with the BFG, good times.

Most of the cheats in Grand Theft Auto IV. I think I liked the police level cheat most, so I could shake them off and light a few more people on fire.

I've always enjoyed cheats that change the fundamental laws of the game. Moon jump mode, things explode when you punch them mode, "Everyone is now a clown" mode... Love it.

I also like the codes that change your appearance, whether cosmetic or ability-wise as well. Black armored Zero in Mega Man X4, Green Goblin in the first Spider-Man movie game, Bill Clinton and the Fresh Prince in NBA Jam, stuff like that.

I could never get that code to work. As I recall, it has to be entered very quickly in the few seconds of black screen before the title screen appears.

Still, debug codes rule pretty hard.

When playing the Quark Vid Comics in R&C3; Up up down down left right circle square square. Jumping around in a tutu always kicks ass if you're a superhero :p

In general though, noclip mode; Mostly you can find funny easter eggs hidden within maps and I always enjoyed it when finding one, games of the now I never spot them in though.

I love the cheat codes for Destroy All Humans a lot of them allow you to use infinite amounts of psychokinesis and even unlimited jet pack fuel and gun ammo, making a game souly about destruction and the wiping out of human race all the more fun.

The crash bandicoot code for the first one. The one that was, like, 40 buttons long.

How great is this code? What is the first code that comes to mind when you say 'cheat codes'? That oh-so-amazing sequence. I wish I was the one to post this, but I don't mind being ninja'd this time.

My own contribution: God Mode. Once you beat the game, this makes the second playthrough totally worth it.
