I blew up lol
All I remember is walking along and heard a noise and BOOM. I didn't know what hit me.

I built a real nice house with windows and all, then a creeper came along and lodged itself in my doorway and blew itself up when I tried to kick it out.

I dug a hole near the beach and hid for the rest of the night.

The next one, I made a giant pillar of sand and hid atop that.

The third day, I did both the first one

By the fourth, I developed glass and created a looking out point, and I dug a hole in the earth and started my tunnles. And then I lost track of time.

I remember I played on a friends account to try it out and knowing what to do from videos I made a small house and cried in it all night with no lighting because coal was scare in that region. Then the next day I found coal but I traveled to far from my house and cried in a hole that night. Sadly enough my house was a mountain range over.

I didn't know you had to hold down the mouse button to break blocks, so I went without a real shelter. Luckily, however, I found a lava fall, and took cover behind it until the sun rose. A few mobs tried to attack me, but burned to death in the lava. While sitting behind the lava, I opened up a thread on /v/ and got a bunch of advice on how to play.

I had watched some youtube videos about minecraft before I ever played it and one was specifically about surviving your first night. The way the guy made the game sound I thought that unless you had full diamond armor and weapons you wouldnt survive a few minutes, let alone a full night. So I took the video to heart

When I finally got the game and started playing I found how wrong the guy was but before that first night passed I had a workbench, furnace, double chest, and a whole bunch of tools and weapons. I sat there looking out my door at the sky and waiting before an idea came to me. I could just open the place up right now! So I did and in one night I made a nice entryway and bedroom.

I spent the day punching trees, looking for coal, and then digging a little awkward hole in a cave for the night. On my way I punched a spider in the face, got mauled, and so also spent that first night licking my wounds and hiding from inquisitive skeletons.

Luckily I was already mildly familiar with the mechanics, so my first night wasn't too bad all things considered.

I found a cave in a mountain, built some doors to block off the entrance. Then when night came around I realized I never found any coal. Then I heard some zombies, freaked the hell out because I thought they made it into my base somehow, legged it out my backdoor, somehow managed to survive the last quarter of the night without shelter, weapons or food, and had to build a new base since I couldn't locate the old one.

To this very day, I have not yet been able to locate my original base.

I had spent too much time gathering wood and trying to figure out what the hell I was doing. I had a workbench, no tools and an asston of wood.

So I took the logical course of action, found the nearest dirt mountain and PUNCHED a tunnel into it until I hit stone. I stayed in that tunnel until sunrise.

Minecraft leads to War Stories, children.

I remember the first time I played minecraft... First day was pretty uneventful. Built myself a nice hole in the side of a mountain, made an entryway, discovered that creepers particularly like to drop down on you from above, discovered that you really NEVER want to be above a skeleton (those bastards have good aim), and it was all good. Then I started digging.

OMG COAL! OMG IRON! OMG FLINT! OMG WATERFALL! OMG GOLD! OMG REDSTONE! OMG LAPIS! OMG LAVAFALL! OMG DIAMONDS! OMG SOURCE LAVA! *looks at wiki* OMG OBSIDIAN FARMING! START DIGGING!

*digdigdigARGHLwhumpfwoosh* WTF LAVA.

...and that was when I learned to never dig beneath your feet. Especially not with obsidian. And ESPECIALLY not with a pack full of redstone and diamonds. GG, new world.

Also, Death From Above creepers gave me a healthy fear of upper levels. My house is now the tallest thing in the world. My second base is (going to be) at cloud level.

I spawned on a snow level (early alpha) walked around my spawn, discovered I can punch dirt and stone, made a fifty block long tunnel at water (ice) level by which time it was night, kept walking around on the ice, exploded, re-spawned, found my tunnel, went back, found the crater, got confused as to why I had exploded, found a zombie stuck in some water trap thing, got killed by it when I went in the hole as well, re-spawned, went back, looked on internet for instructions, discovered I could right-click to place blocks, made a dirt platform house, looked up more instructions, quit, started a new world and started playing again now I knew how to do stuff.

Heh. I remember it well.

Having been dropped into the world, I immediately realised I had no idea what to do and had forgotten to ask any of my Minecraft-owning friends. So I set about clicking on things, to no avail. I soon figured out you have to click and hold to get anywhere, so I started harvesting dirt for a dirt bunker. But I was a bit ambitious with it so by the time I ran out of my stockpiled soil, there was no roof and only two walls.

Night rolled around and, sure enough, zombies flooded the land. I hid behind my wall, confused and scared, when I saw the green monolith I had heard so much about charging towards me through the darkness. I leapt away, panicking, and ran into the sea, little knowing that Creepers can swim faster than you.

Sssssssss BOOM.

And that was my first night.

My first night was awful. A friend has gotten the game for me so I knew very little when I started out. By nightfall I had a half built wooden block house, After I spent a minute or so trying to figure out "crafting" I had my first encounter with a creeper, It didn't well which got me to exit the game and read a few guides.

The first day I spent on it I immediately changed to peaceful mode. But that was ages ago, can't really remember much about it.

Recently though I watched some youtube vids which got me to try survival mode properly. About 2 minutes in got insta-killed by a creeper and was reminded why I play Terraria more than Minecraft. Still, I left it for a bit longer, then came back after more youtube videos. Decided that I didn't have enough resources to make a decent house, so built myself an outpost without a roof, but since it was above ground level I was safe and could actually see what time it was by looking at the sky.

Spent my first night in a hole on top of a mountain, I had tons of monsters swarming me and because my hole was under a tree canopy they didn't die when the sun came up.

My first night is (still) nearly always just me digging a 3 block deep hole and putting another block over the top. I just forget that... time is a thing.

Didn't realise that night came so quickly, and couldn't find any coal, so I died. Then I just made a hole in the wall and hid there til sunrise.
