Probably this summer. I've known for a few years that I want to study linguistics and have been taking Latin classes for a couple years, but I read "Mer de Glace" in a book and saw a million languages inside of that one name: mer and mar in French and Spanish from Maria in Latin wich also gives the name. De in many languages, also du or d' in others all from de in Latin meaning about or from. And glace as in glacier and also ice, as they both share the clean transparent quality. All from "Sea of Ice".
It may sound like a lot of words but it is one of the most beautiful things to me.

A footrace. I was the fastest kid in the class for several years in Elementary school.

First using a complicated machine?

Probably a computer? It depends on what counts as a complex machine. I always loved to see how things worked, so I examined everything like a complex machine. For the longest time Transformers were my favorite because of that: they were a puzzle and a toy; I only once read the instructions and that was on my first.

First competition?

Soccer I guess...only year my team was ever half decent, I broke my foot during our first practice.
