Seriously revise the PC I put together on newegg a few days ago.
Help a friend achieve their dream of opening a bookstore\coffee shop.
Get my A+ certification and open my own computer repair shop\internet cafe.
Keep half of what's left over in the bank for additional business costs and invest the rest.

EDIT:
Buy myself a god-damn netbook while I'm at it so I don't have to be tied to my desk all the time.

A million dollars hunh? Here are the ways i would spend it.

1) Pay the sum of my college tuition off (dont want that debt hanging over you)
2) Pay the full value of my house's mortgage (again, dont want that debt hanging over you).

At this point, assuming my house is the average of 275-325K, plus my college tuition is going ot be about another 80-100K I have spent 355-425K. Then (after taxes this will equal a total of about... oh 650K that i got from the original million):
3) Put away 100K for myself and my wife for retirement.
4) Divide another 100K between the amount of children i have for thier future.

This will leave me with about 25K at least from the original. with that remaining 25K I would:
5) Spoil myself alittle, go on a nice vacation iwth the family, maybe buy something.

The rest I would:
6) Pay any car loans/Other loans
7) Give whats left to charity(ies) of my choosing.

Of course, i'll still be working with the million, so will my wife. a million goes fast, as you can see. So there is no need to keep it all and live the rest of my life.

quite similar to i would do but get a better car in full. put the majority in the bank for college and then a house. then help my sis pay off her debts. and bro to if he has any and my imidetly family.

Well considering my regular computer broke a few weeks back, buy a new one with the best hardware I can find.

Then stick the rest of the money in a bank I guess... I'm not a big spender. =\

Considering these trying times, I'd probably squirrel away the money in the most paranoid manner possible. Pay off all immediate debts. Set aside an amount to cover the lottery taxes and daily living. Put the rest into safe (insured) investments.

On the upshot, I guess I could afford what Blizzard wants to charge for the Starcraft 2 trilogy. *rimshot*

I'd buy the best gaming PC i could find!
a HD TV!
some random games,
a big house so i can have more than just a bed in my bedroom.

Then the rest can go towards messing about, taxes and whatever else i have waiting for me in the future.

I would help my parents with any and all financial troubles they may be having, pay off the rest of my college, get a PS3, new laptop, new pc, and new hdtv, new speakers for my car, get my aunt a tv for her room, give some money to close friends and my family, perhaps get a nice apartment, and use what's left to travel to all the countries I want to visit.

W...T...F...? Well, that was amusingly random.

On topic: Pay off debts, set up a restaurant (invest for the future), get a house, car, save some for my daughter's college, and whateverelse that comes to mind.

I'd invest for a while. After a few years the construction of Mecha-Godzilla will begin.

Find a largely undeveloped country with a nice, but potentially (with a little work) fantastic beach. There, my money would be worth many, many times its value in the US. I'd use said money to hire cheap labour to clean up the beach and build numerous glorious resort buildings and ultra-luxury hotels. I'd fence off the area and invest in high security. This would bring plenty of money into the surrounding areas, allowing them to develop. Then, quite simply, open the gates to my resort with massive prices and watch the world's middle-elite flood in and my fortune reach staggering proportions while I live in a first world nation and stir my tea with a platinum teaspoon.

Definitely not enough for me. I'd need $6 million to buy my island off the coast of Chile, then another $10 mill or so to create more lush housing for friends and make minor renovations to the land (and also capture and rid the island of pumas). I'd then probably need another $20-30 million to buy armaments, a couple of tanks/APCs, and an airfield. Then only if I had another $50 million-ish to fall back on would I declare the island an independent nation (The Republic of Skira), safe in the knowledge that Chile could do fuck all about it and the UN would officially recognise Skira as a nation.

I'd then allow a friend of mine to take charge of an enormous upstart exclusive airsoft site covering at least half the island. It would easily be the world's largest and most authentic airsoft experience. We'd then live off that, and pretty much work our nation from there.

So yeh, give me about $100,000,000 and I'll be happy. $1 million's cool though I guess...
that, sir, is fucking badass.

personally, i would invest about 100k into making myself happy for the time being, then use about 3/4 of the other... however much (depending on taxes)... to pay off future college and car/house fees (put it in CD accounts), and finally give the last 1/4 to family, because they are fucked for cash, and i would wanna help them out.

as i am in México, 1,000,000.00 dollars means about 10 times what i need to build a frikken mansion with everything i can think of

after that, i would buy a car, a modest one but confy

fuck... i would have spent at least 200,000 dollars only on those two things...

see the difference on money from there to here!?!?
That is about what we in America would spend on those two things.

Weird. That looks suspiciously similar to my financial adviser.
