I'm looking to build a gaming computer and have relatively little knowlage in the way of computer parts. SO, I have a budget of around 1200 USD, a little over is fine, if you have the time and are so inclined, post a build!

Sorry, had to do it. On-topic, I'll be watching this thread because I'm a little curious about what I can get for that kind of money, too. I know custom rigs are generally more powerful than the prebuilt models.

There you go, the latest and greatest AMD board and processor, with 8 Gbs of DDR 3, 2 Tb of HDD space, and a cheap-but-speedy GTX 460 that you can SLI with a second GTX, if you want.

Now, I know you wanted to do an i7 core build, but AMD is better for games, due to the way they manage their on-core RAM cache and Bus speeds.

Chances are if you need help selecting parts you shouldn't be putting it together.

$1200 builds me a very good computer...dual GTX 460s and a i5 processor with a good motherboard psu and case.

I mean, I really can't help you, but I figured it would be important for everyone who can, because combined they can take away at least $200 from your budget.

I do allready posses a display. Just the the actual system and a operating system is what I need.

That looks good. I was actually thinking of doing something similar to that except with 4 GB ram and an i5 instead of AMD processor. I've heard conflicting things about AMD and Intel processors. Say intel is always better then AMD in that price range, and some say AMD is better for gaming. I don't know what to believe.
