YES! I'll figure out a way to get magic and join the mages guild! Then I'll learn alchemy and make a living off of potions!
Then I'd get myself a nice house in... hmm... Summerset Isle!?

Skyrim: walk around stealing food from people's houses, just being lazy.

Fallout 1: Meet up with the Vault Dweller and pwn face.

Fallout 2: Sneak into the hidden raiders base, silently kill them all in their sleep and live in said base.

Fallout Tactics: Join my squad, do a few missions, then convince them we should flee and take over a town pretty far away.

Fallout 3: Pick a building, make it ghoul proof, live in it happily for the rest of my days, enjoying a life free of laws and a radio station with only 20 songs.

Fallout: New Vegas: Head west find Fallout 1.

Star Wars: Learn to snipe with lasers (pew pew) become a gun for hire. Find out if I could use the force.

Star Trek: Picard time line. Never wear a red shirt. Find my own ship and find funding for exploration.

Middle Earth: Stay the hell away from all major battles from the books.

Wheel of Time: Visit a few cities before the entire continent gets thrown into bloody wars. Probably settle near Three Rivers, the wars take the longest to get there.

I've thought about them all at one time or another.

So I would wake up in the world of Dead or Alive? Awesome.

In all seriousness though, I think I would enjoy waking up in the Mass Effect universe. Team up with Shepard, get a gun and some armor, and make sure to stay on the ship when going to the collector base, I'm not gonna risk being one of the team members who gets killed. And then to wrap things up, go meet some Asari and see if Garrus has finilly finished his calibrations. Oh yeah, and then I would throw something heavy at the Turien Councilor and say that Ashley did it.

I would be in Kamurocho, the fictional Tokyo district of "Yakuza". No special abilities needed, so as long as I learned Japanese sometime during this mysterious transportation across universes, I should be fine.

First thought:

I'm so going to be abducted and tortured by His Holy Inquisition for knowing more about their universe than they do. ... Unless I bring the 40k rulebook with me and then create a paradox by showing them that they are in fact a tabletop game meant to entertain nerds and therefore don't actually exist except as a creation of an omniscient writer ("there's a man with a typewriter...") or a player doing back story for their army.

... Actually, they'd probably just shoot me and burn my corpse as a heretic. Maybe a 0.00005% chance of me becoming an agent of the Inquisition because of this, which might be awesome/terrifying.

Do I have any money with me? Because I would like to try that famous spice everyone is talking about.
Is that a dune reference?
It sure is.
id say the thread creator would say you have however much money you have now, and when in dune? butlerian jihad, before or after paul becomes emperor? but id agree with you im up for sum worm riding.
My own preference would be around the time of the first Dune book, but I'm probably just ibased because that was the best one.

I dunno, im torn between Naruto and basically any Hentai ever.
In Naruto i would be okay as long as i dont try and fight with a Ninja (I would learn, but that'd take a while)
And in the Hentai...well it'd be like being in anime-poon-tang central ;D
That's...well, honest. Well done, sir.

Also: So I just woke up as an Earth Bender? HELL YES!
oooh, I hadn't thought of Avatar. *looks at Avatar* Probably should have been the first thing to come to mind. I'd probably go Water Bender, though.

Anyway, I'd go to the Honorverse, and I'd be fine. Oh, except for my short lifespan (people in that universe can live for 100-300 years, depending on what generation Prolong Treatment they got), but I can deal. Oh, and I better end up on Manticore, not Haven or *shiver* Old Earth. That would suck. Now I just have to find someone to teach me Treecat Sign Language...

I would have a massive panic attack!

I love WH40K, but it would suck big hairy monkey balls to be one of those untold billions...

For some reason a universe where stars are actually giant flaming tits came to mind when I saw this. Must be watching too much Zero Punctuation because that sound a lot like Yahtzee's favourite universe. Mine would probably be the Call of Duty universe, every time you get a fatal wound, just chill for a few seconds an you're all better. Maybe I should say the Bulletstorm universe, because Call of Duty is supposed to take place in our universe and never leaves Earth. Speaking of which, the events of CoD4 are supposed to happen this year, you keen?

My favorite Universe is Star Trek Next Generation's, and I guess I'd do fine there, but were you to ask me what the best fictional universe of which I can think where it'd be the most fun, I'd write, off hand, Robert Heinlein's Number of the Beast. You can hang with fictional characters from around the multiverse.

Hmmm...between Xanth and The Belgariad.

I suppose Xanth if I was looking at more practical reasons, since it is only in bizarre cases that one doesn't have any sort of magic, whereas in the Belgariad it would be much more impressive magic, but I'd likely end up trying to unmake something and blinking out of existence. Plus I'm halfway decent with puns so might be able to adapt easier.

I'd be in Spira. And surviving would be easy (yet apparently no-one thinks of this) ... wait for it ...

... Any minute now ...

Move inland! Away from the giant whale-monster!

Though seriously, I'm pretty sure magic and what-not is an aspect of the reality, not the characters (I mean, any character can learn magic, only summoning seems selective, and that's up to the fayth, not the summoner ... I think). So I'd just find Yuna's group and get to the learning of white magic (but you see, I have an advantage, being from this world, I can battle in real-time, so I can just sit there maintaining a constant healing aura, meaning I'm essentially invincible (auto-life bitches!))

I'd essentially be Wolverine, except also able to learn other things (like how to set things on fire with my mind, and call down lightning strikes ... seriously, imagine an immortal (male) Lulu raining down a constant stream of lightning, none of this turn-based, one-at-a-time stuff, just constant lightning strikes)

Hmm Marvel universe, well this sucks I don't have any powers. First thing I do get to New York. Buzz Avengers mansion gate and say "Peter Parker is Spiderman, Donald Blake is Thor. The Illuminati have the infinity gems". Basically any thing that's meant to be secret in their universe. Their security goes haywire and I'm detained. I tell them my situation and insist they get a telepath to read my mind.

Once they believe me I try to convince them to let me hang around and I'll hopefully end up a superhero (it happened to Rick Jones).

Mmmmm, I wonder if my education means I can NOT serve as a soldier in the Guard... I hope they're looking for admin staff, who are VERY VERY far from any fighting...

My books universe. It is my favorite universe, so I shall choose it out of necessity, because it is a creators prerogative to love it's offspring unconditionally (despite failures and numerous despicable shortcomings). However, being a normal person creates problems as I will then lose major influence in the story itself, and it would also depend on which book I choose. Will it be the Trilogy of the Last? The Sages Compendium? the Omega Saga? the Creation Log? I enjoy the dark path of the Omega Saga, but the humor and wisdom of the Sages Compendium makes me warm inside. The seriousness of the Trilogy of the Last keeps me on edge, however the Creation Log gives me all the answers while giving me more questions... WHICH ONE?!

Uh...I have no idea. What my favorite universe is, changes often. In this situation, I could be (Trying and failing.) to run from Deathclaws one week, simply end up in Vegas the next, end up in a destroyed, post-apocalyptic Vegas the next, "die" scared, alone, and hopeless in the streets of an overrun Manhattan the next, and you probably get the idea.

Since simply going by memory is finicky, at best, I get to choose. I guess. Even when I get to choose, it's finicky. Do I choose somewhere where I could rip the hell out of everything? Somewhere where I can just survive, but somewhere less boring? A mix of the two, somewhere that I can survive, and have fun killing things? A mix in the other direction, where I survive by killing things?

So hard...

I guess I would choose Disgaea. Yes, I'm fit to get killed, easy; but handguns exist in that world, en mass, and they're my forte. They aren't half bad, either. Get my hand on one, and I could potentially make a living. And the best part, as a rather cheap failsafe, is that if I do die, I get reincarnated as a Prinny, dood. Then I get my own free endless stockpile of weapons, dood. Chances are I could find my way to [small]Prince[/small] Overlord Laharl's castle, dood. Yeah, living as a vassal would be hell, dood...But after I save up enough money, then I could reincarnate into a Nekomata, minus the useless ample assets (And with all hair color being the same. That is a major pet peeve of mine.). Then I could shave off the excess fur, put some casual clothes on, get an RQ .44, and mess some stuff up!

Yes, it will work out either way. Just, one is rather hopeless, and the other would take a while.
