New York City

just New York City. That place is one gaint drain that is only kept afloat by squeezing the rest of the state for as much money as they can, suffocating the rest of the state.

On a lesser evil note, Alabama. Dont get me wrong, the people there are super nice. It is just that....there really isnt anything THERE in the whole state. It is one big state full of nothing.

Or New Jersey, as punishment for giving us the Jersey Shore show.

Cya' Texas!

I guess there isn't much more I can say before I might offend some people.
Somehow, I knew Texas would be the first state to be mentioned...

considering most of the posters on this site tend to be very liberal (at least if that political compass thread is to be believed), it is not surprising that they choose Texas as that is the "stronghold" of the republican party.

Texas. Not because it's the home of the Bush family, but because that would force us to relocate our school textbook industry to someplace less likely to revise and delete known facts.

See, the funny thing is that Texas is the state that would probably take it and like it, too.

I propose we reuse Lex Luthor's plan with California.

How is a show made by a NYC company about people mostly from NY the fault of NJ?

Probably Alaska. It just looks silly on the maps to have such a big piece of land which should clearly be a part of Canada.

On the other hand, this would force the US to wage more wars in the middle east to secure their oil reserves, so never mind.

On topic, I'd go with New Jersey. Having lived there for three years, the people as a rule are just dicks.
Only to strangers.

I'm gonna go with Colorado, because they're they're the least obese state. Also, they're right in the middle of the country, which would be neat.
Well, some of the people were decent, but I have never met ruder employees of restaurants, toll booths, the police, even the fire department and EMTs are just plain annoying. I pulled over to let a cop pass once (I was going 10 over, and he was obviously chasing some other guy that was going at least 20-25 over), and to my surprise he pulled up behind me. When he got out he said this exactly: "I was going after the other guy, but you were kinda speeding so I pulled you over instead." And I proceeded to get a ticket for driving with traffic.

I'll admit, the people I got to know ended up being relatively nice, but it's how you treat strangers that really tells you what kind of person you are. Making a pregnant woman cry for no reason other than to watch her cry (I'll throw another quote here, said to a native of the state at the DMV; "Ma'am, this is New Jersey. You bend over and take it or get out.") is not something a nice person does to someone else. Ever.

New Jersey. A thousand times New Jersey, I won't be truly happy until all those reality show people are completely cut off from the rest of the world.

Hey, im more than willing to sink NYC as well. But nearly everyone in this country associates Jersey Shore with NJ, not NY.

Hell, even South park's episode which made fun of Jersey show had NJ and the people who live there (who all act like the cast from Jersey shore) start taking over the country.

"It's just a Jersey thing, you know, you just gotta be from Jersey to get it."

Really hard to choose. There's a lot of different individual problems I have with a lot of states, but there's no single state that has a far away majority

I think this might push Texas ahead of other states though. School books are pretty important and every time I see the changes made to new ones(History and science teachers in my immediate family) I cringe a little.

If nobody wants Arizona/Nevada/Texas, we'll have it. Can always use more desert, i suppose.

I can really feel the love. Don't worry, Texas loves you too.

I'd say Idaho or Montana. Not because I have anything against the states, but just because I can't think of an impact it would make.

Again, strangers. "It's a dog eat dog world" may as well be our unofficial state motto.

IDK, I think the way you treat strangers says little. A lot of it comes down to societal expectations. In a lot of the country you're expected to smile and wave, regardless of your actual feelings.

NJ consistently ranks very low on suicide rates, so we're doing something right when it comes to how we treat each other.
