I'd want Pi written on the bottom of my foot, not the symbol, but as many numbers of it that fit on the bottom of my foot, or a tied game of noughts and crosses on my wrist, just so when people say "what's that?", I can respond "kids games".

I'd get a tattoo of flesh-colored skin on my arms. They'd be so realistic, they look like I don't have a tattoo.

For me the only two reasons for not getting a tatto are:¨

1. The Pain.

2. The Permanentness. I Change my desktop picture at least once a month, if not more frequently. I can never say what my favorite movie/song/book/character, because i'm always changing my mind. I predict getting a tattoo for life would be something i would be ok with for a maximum of ten years, i would definitely change my mind about what i wanted to be permanently on my flesh in that time.

But since you say i "have to", i have always considered that i i got one, it would be a Transmutation Circle from Fullmetal Alchemist. I find them intriguing and geometrically beautiful (perfect circles, perfect squares, perfect symmetry, etc.)

I would Probably go with the human transmutation circle (the first image), since it's the most iconic, across my back. Though a Simpler version on my arms or hands (for easy use XD!), sound funs, and will probably involve a lot less pain.

I'd want the MUSE logo around my right upper arm, below the shoulder, and the Hylian Crest between my shoulder blades.

A coat of arms (I won't tell you which one) on my left arm, on the muscle off the shoulder (deltoid). It's the one I plan to get one day.

It won't be my family coat of arms, that's for sure. Not only is it badly designed, it has a unicorn on it...

Well, accepting this bizarre hypothetical situation in which I have to get a tattoo (I assume terrorists are holding my family hostage because they think a tattoo would look really good on me and are upset that I don't have one), I would probably go with a Watchmen homage, and get the atomic symbol for hydrogen that Dr. Manhattan uses, though I'd probably put it on one of my shoulders instead of right in the middle of my forehead.
It's because so people are so against tattoos I would like to see what they pick if they were forced. And it's amazing how few people here would prefer something personal.

A triforce on the back of my left hand. For a personal tattoo a replica of my future FBI badge on my right bicep.

A barcode on the palm of my right hand. To symbolize my cynical motto that everything is for sale including myself. I would also specifically ask for it to be on my right hand as the right hand is the "deal maker" hand, therefore the hand people give away their will-to-live with. I.e. starting a job you are overqualified for under a boss you hate with long hours and bum pay. This of course is set in motion the instant you hear "We are looking forward to having you work for us," and shaking the greedy fucker's hand.

These sort of threads always make me quite happy I never ran out and got a tattoo when I was younger...

Anyhoo. If I were forced I'd go with a solid black square, doesn't really matter where I suppose.

I've posted this before but I'd like a gear on the back of my right hand. If I needed a really big tattoo I'd get a series of interlocking gears and pistons making my right arm look like a steampunk robot... possibly a steam colossus?

A friend of mine has a tri force on her ankle and a chocobo on her shoulder blade. The best part is she is a teacher at a Catholic Highschool. I think that is pretty awesome.

Well, since I have to get a tattoo. I'd get one that would be easily noticeable and on somewhere like....my forearm or my ankle. Maybe even my eye! Okay, not my eye..just on my ankle.
.
[sub]Yes, it'd be a very small dot[/sub]
