So what would it be of and where? For me, it would have to be the Sony Playstation symbol http://www.gemzies.com/upload/page_thumb/sony-playstation-logo.jpg
Because most of my childhood was spent on that console. I'd get it on my arm because it seems that it would be the least painful and the most exposed.
So the rules are you HAVE to get one, but you decide where and what.
I didn't get any tattoos until I was 25; just because all of our local so-called 'artists' (better name would be 'butchers') were clueless, untalented and, for the most part, unlicensed. So, once I had some spare money, I started traveling around and came across a great artist who just lives 80 miles from me. I've been going to him for eight years now, and I'm VERY SLOWLY getting 'sleeves' for both my forearms. Right now on my left arm I have a black dragon in flames by a dead oak tree (they dominate the length of my arm and take up half of it width-wise) and the Chinese symbols for patience and wisdom close to the crook of the elbow. On my right arm, I have a white tiger in a waterfall with a blood-red moon over him. In the background, I have bamboo and the start of a cherry tree (we were all too tired to finish it, so we said screw it, we'll get back to it later). The bamboo and the cherry branches surround the Chinese symbols for strength and courage.
My rules for tattoos are this: Nothing on the face, neck, or hands. Nothing you can't cover up in the event of a job interview, meeting people for the first time you want to make a good impression on, etc. Even though no one has ever said anything negative (to my face, anyway) about my tattoos, (I actually get alot of people who come up and ask all kinds of questions and comment on how good they look) I still am aware of how narrow-minded people can be.
Don't get anything that 'in' or trendy now. 50 years from now, you'll regret it. Justin Bieber who?
Moving on, no names, period. Blood-related children, mom, dad, favorite uncle, fine. But boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, BFF... Well, you're just asking for trouble there.
