I think "The Batman" cartoon tried an episode similar to that idea where Batman was given a toxin by Hugo Strange and he was deceived into thinking the whole city had been turned into an infected-zombie hot-spot. It was actually pretty cool.

OT: Um... My twist... Hm... I got a couple actually:

#1 - Ninja Zombies. Somehow a ninja gets infected by zombies and he returns to where he was trained and infects them as well. Now the world has to deal with these doubly-deadly psychotics

#2 - Black Plague Zombies: I.E. turns zombies into a period piece and see how it would affect people of different time periods when the whole zombie thing was unheard of and the technology to fight them was non-existent. I'd love to see it during the pre-colonial days.

#3 - Zombies in Space: ... um... Zombies... but in space...

#4 - Cyber Zombies: Overexposure to computers and overuse of them corrodes the minds of thousands to millions of people. They become cannibals and eventually their minds deteriorate so much, they effectively become zombies. OR something along those lines

I totally want to steal this for my idea. if not for killing them outright, then at least for driving them off. Is that ok?

The zombies break out in a rural area and are quickly put down by the military with under 10 human losses.

I love the idea that someone posted before of a small group who prepares perfectly for the apocalypse, but one of them is infected and tries to hide it. That could be grueling, horrifying stuff. I imagine a scene when his flesh first starts to change where he goes in the bathroom and tries to cut out the rotted flesh. Ewwww...

I had the idea of a small group of people on a small colony on a far off planet. The planet is an ice planet, and I was thinking the colony would look like the ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, except more utilitarian. A giant blizzard is coming and most of the colony is evacuated, but they can't evacuate everyone. This one mechanic is going through this huge station, trying to keep its core support systems from being destroyed. He has people with him but at certain points the blizzard breaks through the walls. Everyone who goes into the snow dissapears. They reappear later, but they are changed, and are trying to force him into the snow. The big question is whether there is actually something in the snow that changes these people, or if he is just crazy/paranoid. I think a scenario like this would be cool if, for the whole movie, he never goes out into the snow, until the "zombies" get him locked in a room at the very end of the hotel, and put explosives on the door. The explosion is not big enough to kill him, but the room collapses and he is hurled out into the snow. Completely disorientated, he frantically tries to find the hotel in the blinding snow before the snow gets him, so to speak.

The zombies are actually caused by a neurotoxin released into the atmosphere by Space Vikings. The Space Vikings simply decided that they needed to get into a good old-fashioned zombie brawl before slogging back a couple of space flagons of space mead before heading back to their Space Viking home planet with their Space Viking Warships loudly singing space war songs about conquering different planets and enjoying women from space...in space...

Guy wakes up in a totally infected world. Turns out his blood is the cure so he starts curing zombies this way. At the end it turns out he has been a zombie the hole time and he has been infecting people.

Ok, so the hero is this scientist type guy (think Gordon Freeman) and one day one of his colleges gets detained in their science facility for doing something evil. His only request is to talk to the hero character (henceforth called Steve). He reveals to Steve that he placed several canisters containing his zombie transformation gas stuff in 3 busy public places and tells the hero he has a limited amount of time to deactivate the bombs before they detonate. To be nice, villain guy injects Steve with the only copy of the cure made so far so he won't be effect by the gas.

As Steve is leaving, a bomb that the villain guy didn't mention goes off in the lab turning all other scientists, except for Steve (antidote), into zombies. Steve decides to fight his way out with a fire ax he took off the wall but the more zombies he kills, the more angry and fierce the others become.

After he escapes the science place, he heads to the locations of where the bombs were supposed to be but discovers that they had already detonated and turned everyone into zombies. Thinking that he needs to protect everyone by killing the zombies in the areas so they can't spread, he goes on a killing spree. His spree stops though when zombies appear driving police cars and they rush over to subdue Steve.

The big twist is that there never were any zombies, the evil scientist guy only drugged Steve to think that everyone he met had turned into a zombie. So Steve ended up killing innocent people instead.

Also, why do the Beiber fans get away so easily. Pff...getting shot.
I know, They should Be Drawn and Quartered

i've got an idea, the main cast is made up entirely of African Americans and one white guy, who is the first one to die in a massive role reversal of many hollywood horror films

This as kinda been done but its a book...Its the original I am legend.
Think I have to explain myself so that people will not tell me I am wrong.
1.Its vampires
2.He is not a schizophrenic
3.The vampires are real but they are not murderous.
4."He glimpses a future society where infection is normal and he is a murderous biological deviant."
If you do not want to read to whole book you can always read the important stuff on Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Legend_%28novel%29

In my Zombie Movie, the Zombies are all blind. But their senses are heightened so that a simple sound makes them very alert. Even if they can't see you, their hearing, smell, and touch can be just as deadly. Plus it'd make the movie scarier, imagine you going through the Mall with them around you. A simple mistake and they are all over you *shrugs* Yikes.
Its an anime and manga but Highschool of the dead uses this.

Wow.. I totally guessed that, I didn't know an Anime used that idea Haha. Alright i'll make a new twist then.. Mm *thinking* Ok:

The Zombies are actually huggable people.. they go after you and just hug you for the longest time. People at first will they they're trying to kill us, but then when someone is 'attacked' they realize the zombie is just hugging onto them with no happy or scary expression. Sometimes a horde of them will group hug someone. The situation just seems odd and is shown on Fox that killing them is wrong (lol). Which would be.. because like I wouldn't kill a zombie hugging me, i'd just keep my distance and have him/her hug someone else XD
I would watch that...but how long are they hugging and will you be able to move ? cause if they hug for a rely long time will you not starve to death ?...and it also sound like my personal hell *cries*
EDIT: Did not notice the part about that they could smell you better because Higschool of death do not have that...Sorry

How about, in the end you find out that the 'zombies' were just drunk people? Like OP's example, sorta. See, the 'hero' lost his wife due to a drunk driver, and slowly went insane without her in his life. One day he wakes up, and views all drunk people as 'zombies' as a way to subconsciously rationalise his revenge on them. And by that I mean, he turns into a mass murderer.
that sounds like it could work, I would actully watch that if they pulled it off right, would have to be flashes of his wife every so often and you get the full memory near the end but other wise pretty solid

Im fed up of having the outbreak in a city or some form of urban/woodland environment, i would set it in a jungle, then the zombies would be capable of leaping from tree to tree, they would also be like the zombies in return of the living dead etc. where they have intelligence and can lay planned ambushes/camoflage themselves in the trees. they would also shed their skin like a snake meaning that eventually they would heal any wounds and rid themselves of any tell tale signs, and being that they are intelligent and can communicate would mean that they can easily mix in with a group of survivors.. wait a minute this is starting to sound like a zombie version of screamers.. oh well good enough =] also the infection would be explained that it isnt from a snake, or from pollution or from other cheesy things, but that it is infact the next step in human evolution and it is innevitable that sometime you will turn but obviously suvivors wouldnt know this and would "assume" its an outbreak or some government related lie. the evolution part by the way would be to do with a strand of dormant DNA activated by various things eg. Stress, Sadness, and other emotions.

tried to go deep with this one, i really did want to make a zombie movie =/ lol

I've written a zombie short story with a twist. Of sorts. Knowing it's a zombie story kinda spoils it, though.

The zombies are only in the first bit of the movie as a coalition of embattled tribes of survivors finally destroy them once and for all, even though most of the promotional material featured them prominently. It's actually about an internal power struggle that occurs within one tribe as they and the rest of humanity try to pick up the pieces and rebuild while trying to defend resources vital to their own survival from a large, organized band of mauraders.

The film will break every single zombie film rule there is.

The guy who wanders off alone into a dark corridor doesn't die.

The asshole, who almost gets his team killed lives through the film.

Any girls who take their tops off, actually prove to be the most effective and end up living through the ordeal rather than being torn to shreds.

The zombies weak points are their shins which is actually called their enchanted shin (There's a cookie waiting for those who get the refrence.)
SIMPSONS! I've probably been ninja'd, but still.
As for my twist. I was gonna say the zombies are the good guys, but that's already been said a few times.
The zombies all came from hell, and Satan has followed them up to herd them back down. Or something. I don't know, I just like the idea of Satan being a good guy. It would be amusing.

That's been done, but it's a videogame...it's the original Doom.

1. It's demons.
2. He's a space marine.
3. It's in space but the demons are from hell.
4. There's a portal to hell that the demons come from and then attack him because they're demons.

Yeah...that's about as many similarities as my idea has with I am Legend which, by the way, I have read.
