In the beginning of the movie we see our character fight zombies scared and alone.As the movie progresses he starts to notice the zombies running away from him.He assumes its because of them getting smarter and trying to get away from their worst foe.The finale has him take down a fort of zombies and in one of the last rooms he finds a mirror.

It turns out HE was the zombie, and that the infection made the normal people look like zombies.

I think it woudnt be bad if executed properly.

What if there are two groups, those immune and those not. Only thing is that these groups are relatively evenly split, like 3/4 of the population is not immune and 1/4 is. Now the infection is spreading like wildfire among those not immune. But it soon becomes clear that theres something else going on. After being infected you say... become much like a L4D common infected (except more dangerous... lets make them all hunters actually). But after the infected kill someone who is immune the transformation is soon reversed. The infected person returns to normal and is now immune to the infection. They will NEVER become a zombie again, and on top of this, they are fully aware of everything they did and was done to them when they were a zombie, but they were completely out of their own control.

Now don't go putting words in my mouth to make this simpler, i said that the zombie has to KILL to return to normal. I don't want any creative solutions like they only have to drink the blood of someone who is immune, not without making the zombies more of a threat so that curing them is not only difficult, but also requires some sort of sacrifice on the part of those who are immune.

Holy threes with dicks on! You are a genius!

The zombies are fast as Olympic sprinters, have the collective intelligence of all the people they've infected, and are not killed by headshots, they're bodies must be absolutely decimated for them to die...

...but they have one weakness...

... the Vuvuzela

Haven't watched that many zombie movies however. I find them pretty boring mostly.

At the end, the lone survivor wakes up in a psychiatric ward after his righteous spree of genetic purification to learn that he was just a nut job and he killed thousands of innocent people in increasingly brutal ways.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR it turns out at the end that the zombie virus was introduced by aliens to make their conquest and subsequent resource-mining of Earth much easier.

Alright, here is my idea.

Of the 6 main characters, five of them are bit in the first half hour. Assuming there is some kind of mass hysteria, they all lock themselves in their house. It's only until one of the people turns that they realize they are in a zombie apocalypse.

The last unbitten man goes more and more insane, and by the end of the movie he stalks and kills the remaining not-quite-yet-turned friends of his. He is then eaten alive.
