Actually this in this season of Doctor Who the episode "Vincent and the Doctor" was moving to me. It was about Vincent Van Gough, and well, he's a kind of tragic guy.
That made me cry, especially at the end where he's standing in the museum honouring his artwork as Chances by Athlete plays.

Turn Left, Journey's End and The End of Time for Doctor Who also make me cry and are very emotional.

And the obligotary mentioning of Fry's Dog from Futurama. As well as the episode where he captures the stars to re arrange them to say "I love you Leela." A feat which goes unnoticed by everyone but him as they're compressed into a black hole.

Buffy the vampire slayer: "The body". That is a really emotinal episode. It needs context by seeing the all the episodes beforehand so that you actually care about the characters.

Yeah, Buffy's "The Body" ouch, Giles playing that record always gets me. "Jurassic Bark," I always hug my dog after watching that one. One that always got to me was M*A*S*H's "Dreams." Creepy and sad all at once.

So many episodes of The Wire. The way the characters are written makes a real impact when anyone kicks the bucket. Even the drug dealers and murderers who you hatedin the beginning they have such powerful character arcs that i was really sad when a few of them got knocked off.

"The Parting of the Ways" had me a little choked, but the only TV episode to actually make me cry was the ending of "Doomsday" from Doctor Who.

Oh man, Jurassic Bark is so sad. I love my dog so much.

The Wire episode in season 1 where Poot and Broadus gotta shoot the young kid for talking to the cops. That was sad. I forget the kids name though.
His name was Wallace :(

If you've watched the rest of the series, you really should find the finale of Battlestar Galactica quite emotional. I know I got a little teary.

Yeah, for a comedy Scrubs can be quite surprising with its emotional depth at times. The most powerful part of that episode was where JD tries to tell Cox to keep his chin up, and gets a despondent 'Yeah, you're right' in response.

Those two episodes of Futurama the original final one. There are so many episodes in Scrubs that are emotional. Couple of Pokemon ones mostly the ones like when he says goodbye to pokemon. Some Stargate episodes are quite emotional too.

It is also my favorite episode of Scrubs.

OT though, many scrubs episodes are pretty heavy. "The Sting" episode from Futurama is a good one too.

Yes, that episode of futurama with Fry's dog made me cry. Mind you in that one film I think Matt Groening took heed of this and showed that an alternate Fry went to the past and lived a long, fulfilled life with the dog.

Apart from that I'd have to say back to earth for Red Dwarf, specfically the third and final part. How lister's there on the floor, not quite dead but not quite alive, and his only friends for the past few decades are huddled around him as he has to choose between the dream of Kochanski and reality.

That Firefly episode when it starts with Mal lying on the floor bleeding.
Oh god yes, I'd nearly forgotten that one. Most definitely that.

Otherwise, I'm going to go with Doctor Who's 'Parting of Ways'. The finales always seem to make me well up.

And I think there will be a universal agreement on the Futurama where Fry's dog got fossilized.
Agreed... Also (and don't look me like that) the final episode of ALF
