For all that went around, I kind of feel like the year was a step backward, sure I suppose it would be generally my own opinion. We ended up with multiple disappointments, and few gems. I guess some may say that, that's generally how it is sometimes, but it just felt a little off this year. I'm not saying all the games were bad, I mean I loved Catherine, Batman Arkham Asylum, Skyrim, Portal 2, Bullet Storm and Infamous 2.
On the other hand I also had the displeasure of playing, Duke Nukem Forever (which I think many other people did too, and it's totally winning an award of "Biggest disappointment"), Gears of war 3, Dead Island, F3EAR, Shadows of the Damned (I still love Suda51 but this felt weak), The 3Ds in general (MY EYES, MY EYES!), and Dragon Age 2. Even the arcade games felt weak this year, last year felt stronger, I mean look at Super Meat Boy and Limbo (countless others too)!
I'm not saying to agree with me, I just didn't feel the "love" this year, I hope next year is better, but if you have any feelings of disappointment this year, feel free to let it out, I'd totally listen.
However If I could say what I enjoyed the most this year, it falls down to, Catherine #1, Portal 2 #2, and Infamous 2 #3
Biggest disappointments: Gears of War 3, Dark Souls, and Duke Nukem Forever (However for some reason I already had a feeling after it's long development time, they realised the game sucked already, Gearbox just wanted it to get out of the way perhaps).
